First time there today. Food is excellent and the staff that prepares the food is excellent l. However, the young lady at the counter when you walk in was not very welcoming. Remember you are the face of the company. Very disappointed with her. However I would recommend this restaurant 😋

This is my go to for Hibachi! The meat portion is small, but they make up for it in rice. Honestly for the price you cannot complain. Also the best white sauce I've ever had. That's what keeps me coming back!

My husband and I have been coming here for about 10 years over the last 10 years. We probably eat here about once every 8 to 10 weeks and loved Kobe of Japan and never had any issues until today. I walked in to order a side order of noodles and some soup for my friend who is in ICU that was hit from a drunk driver. The lady was very rude and asked me if I didn’t have cash since the order was only $4.80 when she asked me that I went into my purse found a five dollar bill dropped it onto the counter and when I did her hand caught underneath the five dollar bill. She looked up at me and said you’re not gonna give me money like that and when I tried to explain to her that it was an accident it was not intentional. I was just putting the money up on the counter and it caught underneath her hand. She talked over me and wouldn’t even let me speak so I asked for the money back and I will never come back there simply because she was so rude

Apparently this place is famous. I arrived around lunch time and it was busy. The atmosphere was clean. There was only one napkin on the floor at the door. I ordered the lunch hibachi chicken. And it was tasty. My only complaint is I wish they would put more food on my to go plate.

I use to eat here often when i worked on this side of town however its been years since ive eaten here and I won't be back. Service 0/10... meat wasnt seasoned and it was over cooked- the only thing good on the plate was the rice and i got enough of that to feed 3 ppl. I should have know when I walked in and no one was there- use to be standing room only.

I normally like Kobe Japan's food but last night wasn't good. My order was called about 7:00pm, the person who took the order wasn't pleasant. I understand, they're tired by the end of the night but every customer deserves quality customer service. I arrived at Kobe Japan after a long day at work, tired and can relate to being exhausted. I noticed the bag felt a bit lighter than normal but I dismissed it and proceeded home. I get home, my order of Steak, Shrimp, broccoli and Rice had about half the normal quantity of food with barely any broccoli. The little bit of steak wasn't fresh nor tender and it taste funny. I believe it was scraps left over from the day. I immediately called and expressed my disappointment. I stated, I know it's the end of a busy day and your about to close soon but every customer deserves quality service and quality food at all times. I don't normally leave reviews but this time I felt a need to do so. Shame on you Kobe Japan! Lesson learned, always check your food before paying and leaving the establishment!

June 2025: I’m kinda shocked by the reviews. I enjoy going to the restaurant for the lunch specials, which is less than $10 for meat, veggies , rice, and a drink. They do cook it batches, but the wait has been reasonable at 5-10 minutes.
I always dine-in, but I’ve gotten a plate to-go for a friend and they thought the chicken was lacking sauce, which I do agree with and it’s one reason I prefer to eat it straight from the grill.
I do think they need to make sure they’re keeping the white sauce on the counter cold and fresh and cleaning the bottles often.
Other than that, I don’t have any true concerns. Great prices, great food, great service, and great location.

Food was ass. Worst hibachi I’ve had. Not worth $15 for a lunch special. Plus they skimped on the food. Cmon now for a hibachi place to have Japanese employees and owners yall should know how to cook the food you’re serving correctly. Disappointing not going back.
