This was a pleasant surprise! I stopped in to get a takeout chicken shawarma. It was incredibly good and I look forward to trying more from them.

Thank you yelp for bringing us to this great place. The lunch buffet was excellent pot roast was great as was the chicken. Humus was good as was the pita. The rice pudding is to die for. Who would want to eat at A sub place when you can come to a place like this. You are lucky to have this place Greensborough

The food here is delicious! We had the Cairo mix grill and Mazza Sampler. This was enough to feed the both of us and with leftovers. The food is fresh and full of flavor. Highly recommend checking this place out. We will definitely be back.

The restaurant has an Egyptian ambience. Food is standard middle eastern with some Egyptian items thrown in. The Samboosas (I guess the original root of Indian samosas) were nice. They have really good dips Main entrees had large portion sizes but felt a bit dry and I wish they would add more flavor or spice. No issues on quality of food or service.

This place is a must visit for anyone going to Greensboro. Not only is the food good, the service is amazing and the decor is breathtaking as it resembles a Market in the Middle East. Wonderful work and I give them 5 stars for making such a great effort.

It is very hard to find authentic Egyptian food in the U.S., so my brother and I were thrilled to discover Koshary in Greensboro. We are Egyptian Americans and had recently traveled to Egypt in January. As soon as we walked into this restaurant, we felt we were back in Egypt. The flavors are rich and authentic and the desserts are so delicious! I highly recommend the lamb shank which melts in your mouth. The karkaday (hibiscus tea) is fresh, sweet and delicious and tastes exactly like the karkaday in Egypt. The owners are delightful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for delicious and authentic Egyptian cuisine.

I visited Koshary for an early weeknight dinner as a solo diner when I was in town for a conference. The decor is lovely and peaceful inside, and it wasn't busy at all. There are a few vegetarian options, though most of the food is meat-based. I tried a small portion of the koshary, which is an Egyptian dish of rice, chickpeas, and fried onions with a tomato sauce. It came out fast in a good portion for a very reasonable price; other dishes seem to be a bit more expensive. The taste was good, but nothing stood out about it -- the flavors were pretty simply. if you get the koshary, I definitely recommend adding the sauce/vinegar on the table to your dish, or it may be on the bland side. I'd be curious to try the buffet!

I have always wanted to go inside since it opened and I finally did!!! Allow me to tell y'all the food, oh my goodness, the food was sooooo good. Im a PICKY (read annoying) eater and I ate EVERYTHING here. My mouth just waters thinking about eating koshary again. The lunch buffet is a steal, actually their prices are very decent and the food is definitely worth it. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive. The teas were also very delicious. I see no reason for anyone not to come here. I will add they don't sell alcohol, but you don't really need alcohol to enjoy this food, I promise.

Convenient to the courthouse where I was doing jury duty, Koshary is a friendly, exotic respite in downtown greensboro. I had the stuffed grape leaves which were tasty, followed by moussaka and a Turkish coffee. Highly recommend when you want a bit of med cooking

I just got back from a Friday lunch buffet at Koshary with a friend. It was excellent and included some of the best chicken breast I have ever eaten. The hummus is delicious, especially enjoyed by dipping artichoke hearts into it with pita bread. The mixed, grilled or roasted veggies (zucchini squash, onions, red bell pepper, etc) was seasoned spectacularly. If you are on a Paleo or low carb diet you can safely eat the buffet and be thoroughly sated. The service was pleasant and attentive. The buffet price was very reasonable. I'll be coming back with people from the office for lunches for sure!

My wife and I had lunch here after visiting the International Civil Rights Center and Museum which is a block away. My wife and I had the falafel sandwich and the falafel was done just right. I had the koshary which was excellent the tomato sauce was pleasantly spicy. The koshary comes in half and full portions. The half size is a large portion.

Stopped for lunch based off reviews we found online. The service was terrible & the food wasnt much better. Falafel (appetizer) came out hard as a rock and was cool/chewy when it was brought out with our entrees. The salad came out with fried pieces of my partners entree included. Our server did not bring out our meals & was nowhere to be found for about twenty minutes after they were delivered by a different employee. Eventually she turned up - directly walking to our table from the front entrance after smoking, without washing her hands.

I have only ever been here for their lunch buffet, but this is an awesome little find in downtown Greensboro. The buffet offers the basic Mediterranean food you would expect: hummus, baba ganoush, salad, rice pudding, beef and chicken shawarma, and a few other items. Reasonably priced and the service is great. They also offer a full menu. The building is awesome inside too. Check it out.
