I came here for my birthday on 5/03. My boyfriend and I were the first ones in and our waitress Yoli was quick to accommodate our needs! We have never been here before so we asked questions and she recommended some GREAT FOOD! The atmosphere is fantastic, especially for fine dining and if you are looking for anything with good music, good food, and great people this is the place for you!
After enjoying a lovely date night, my husband and I decided to dine at this restaurant. However, upon arrival, the host initially told us there was no space available, despite us noticing plenty of empty tables. We even inquired about sitting at the bar but were denied. It was disheartening to witness six individuals, who appeared to be Hispanic and arrived after us, being seated without any issues. La Pura Vida NC Cocktail Bar Restaurant is a nice little fun spot downtown with prime location, a beautiful restaurant, and various types of seating. The staff is amazing, pleasant, and nice, with the friendliest service. The latin fusion food is incredible, with everything on the menu being so good. Specific meals include the red snapper with amazing rice, a huge plate of food, the bandeja paisa, lamb chops that were flavorful and cooked well, the churrasco bites, and the mar y tierra roll. The latin sushi is different, really good, and to die for. Drinks are great with plenty of cocktail options, and service is fast. The atmosphere is a total vibe. Some dishes needed a little more seasoning, the mashed potatoes were bland, and the shrimp and lobster were a little overcooked. All food comes out at once, and downtown parking is difficult. A cake and light show were provided for a birthday.
