“Family has been going to LA Unica for YEARS. We have had them cater 2 graduations for us that guests still talk about how good the food was. Their salsa is the best you will have, hands down. Extensive menu with many dishes you will not find on any other menu, anywhere. They have lengua on their menu that is tender and delicious. If you like heat, try the Bistec con Chile. You WILL sweat!!!! Incredible staff that is friendly and attentive.“

“They were super busy, but it's very clean and everybody working was happy! We got our food in a very reasonable time, considering the number of tickets and door dash orders. The manager was training a newbie and seemed very good at his job. I heard him telling the staff they were doing a good job and appreciated. It actually made me miss my food service days!“

“Wow. Happened by chance by this food truck. Gave it a try. OMG. Best authentic Mexican street food! Incredible flavor and huge portions. My wife and I split the special and it was almost too much. The shredded beef was awesome - perfectly seasoned and perfect texture. Green and red hot sauces were spot on. Fresh radish and lime accompaniment were perfect. Soup was piping hot and delicious. Better than any Mexican food we ever had in Texas (where we lived for 40+ years. This place is 10 out of 10!“

“The Latin American Quetzal Restaurant is superior when it comes to serving red snapper! It was perfectly cooked in the Huachinango style (deep fried without a batter). It was served with rice, beans, avocado, cactus salad, pickled onions, jalapeno salsa, and lime. This was all served on two big platters. The red snapper was huge and it sat on a sizzling hot iron plate. I could not believe the quality and amount of food they served for only $23.99! They also make their own aqua frescas. I had a mix of their mango and passion fruit aqua frescas mixed together. It was delicious! I would also like to say that the service there was very good and attentive. There is no question that I will be coming back again!“

“We went this evening as a family to celebrate my son’s graduation, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, every single person we encountered was genuinely kind, welcoming, and attentive. You could tell the staff truly cares about their guests.

“My wife and I had dinner at the Charlotte location this evening. We had great service from our server Noah, who was very quick to take our drink order and provided attentive service for our entire dinner. We both ordered a Chimichangas (my wife had the chicken and I had the beef). Both were delicious, well seasoned and served hot. (fwiw) noted the staff were sweeping and cleaning the restaurant tables quickly, after a table turned.“

“I came in to try their version of Pollo fritto- fried chicken. This chicken was well marinated- fried to perfection and the sauces- 1 avocado salsa and 1 salsa picante were heavenly 😋 they underestimated me as they were unaware I am fluent in Spanish so I quickly changed the interaction ordering my food in Spanish and we both smiled and chatted while I waited for my food. This place is so welcoming and warm with great authentic dishes and I love the fact they make tortillas from scratch! The taste is so much better and natural!“

“Exceptional Dining Experience at Que Onda Original!

We'd heard rave reviews about the original Que Onda restaurant, and our curiosity was piqued. Although we'd tried many of their dishes at other locations, we were eager to explore new options. The birria torta and birria ramen exceeded our expectations. The generous serving of tender, juicy meat was perfectly seasoned. The drinks were also very amazing and thirst quenching.

What truly stood out, however, was the restaurant's warm and inviting atmosphere. Even though this is the oldest Que Onda restaurant, it still holds its own homey charm - a true testament to the owners and manager's dedication to preserving its authentic character.

We'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend trying their unique dishes. Service and quality were top-notch!“

“We've been in Charlotte for 13 days and needed a Mexican food fix. Being from Texas, we've got everything from Tex Mex to authentic Mexican. We were a little worried! I had a birria taco and the hubs had a Mexican Ramen dish with beef and mushrooms. Everything was delish! The ramen had a hard boiled egg in it, just YUM. The flavors were unique and the service was super friendly. We'll go back!“

“Most Mexican restaurants really only serve rice, beans, lettuce/sour cream, or pico de gallo as sides. I’m not a huge rice and beans girl. They had all kinds of sides to pick from! The food was delicious and the drinks were made well. We have officially made it our go-to spot.“

A downside is the lack of dining area, only a few tables and during peak times you might not get one and have to wait, or get it to go.
The wait staff isn’t the friendliest however, the food makes up for that.“
