awful service because I was at myself they wanted to stick me at a bar high. I requested a regular table due to some issues with my knee. I was told I didn’t have anything available, but there I was available the person before me and after me got a regular.table

I am so happy that my indecisive self decided to give this place a try. I have not been impressed with most of the establishments in the area. My wife and I usually travel to Asheville for good food. On a Sunday there weren’t a lot of options. We decided to give backstreets a try. It’s been years since I ate here and didn’t remember. She got Cajun chicken pasta and I got possibly the best Rueben I’ve had in years. I’d say the pasta is better than Cheesecake Factory. The only negative thing was the judgy couple sitting beside us. However, they cannot control who comes through their doors. The service was excellent and I’m so happy I found a place I am happy with locally.

Backstreets is always good. The food is yummy, and the drinks are great. We've also always had great service. The only downfall is that there is always a wait, but that is to be expected with a consistently great restaurant. Worth it!

We had travelled 7 hours today from KY and got to Hickory for a 3 day get-away. The first restaurant we tried to go to (in the very cute Main Street/downtown area wouldn't seat us outside because there had been a light sprinkle, so we ended up at Backstreet and had a WONDERFUL experience. Our dog was welcomed instantly, we were seated outdoors on a lovely back patio. I had the sesame crusted ahi tuna over spinach salad and my hubby had the Creole chicken pasta. (They made a grilled chicken breast for the pup). Cold draft beer "Great Lakes Irish Red" from GA was cold and crisp. Our service was top notch. Highly recommend and we would definitely come here again.
This is a terrible place to go if you're prone to belly laughs with your bestie. The owner, BrYan, asked us to be quiet for laughing. He's a big man telling women to be quiet at HIS bar.
