If you're looking for a nice evening out on a Friday night, that's not too expensive has a wonderful food and great entertainment. You need to go to Boca. From the moment you walk in you know it's gonna be a great night. The food was great, although we did make some tips about making it even better. For one then brussels sprouts needed a little bit more garlic sauce. The original paella needed to be a little bit more moist. It was great tasting, but it was a little bit dry.
We enjoy Boca. However, last night it was very busy! We waited for drinks. We waited for appetizers. We waited to give our order. Everything was good, except for the sliders. They were too spicy. It would be nice for the menu to point out that entree's are spicy! We passed on dessert due to the fact that everything was taking so long. Some new additions to the menu would be nice!
This was the perfect spot to go before prom. I was on a date (? maybe) and we went to eat before prom. The food was delicious, the server treated us insanely kind even though we had no clue what the menu meant, and made sure to compliment us throughout the meal. He was super funny too. The environment was super romantic and cool and there was a live guitarist at the end which was cool. Our reservation was at 5:15 which was good to beat the other prom crowd. It was a little noisy but the place was filled with teens so it made sense. Food came out super fast too. It was pretty pricey but if you're looking for a good romantic and upscale place, don't miss out on Boca.
We are long time patrons of Boca. Tonight we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food we chose. The fried lobster tails were presented looking like two dried pieces of chicken fingers. For $38. That was it except for a container of honey mustard dressing. The offering was tasteless. The salmon dish which was a go to item on the menu now had a too hot topping of some kind that added nothing. The portion size has been reduced by about a third compared to past times we have ordered this dish. The only constant was the excellent service from Jimmy. Based on our experience tonight, there are better choices in Hickory for upscale dining.
All of the food appeared to be frozen . I ordered the swordfish and it was tough and dry. The English peas were freezer burned and the calamari looked like fish sticks. I will not go back

Everything was great, but our waiter sucked. Had a big attitude and couldn’t wait for us to leave cause we ordered a bunch of tapas. He also put a baguette on my receipt at $0 charge but gave it to someone else, and didn’t bother to ask if we wanted bread. Highly recommend but ask for a waiter who cares about service and not about tip.

My fiancé and I came here for a late valentines date. The food was wonderful! I had the duck confit and he had the crab stuffed salmon. We really enjoyed both. The whipped ricotta appetizer was also wonderful and I would recommend trying it. The service was spot on and the atmosphere was refined but cozy. Perfect for a special occasion. We will be back again someday

I just dined at Boca with my boyfriend this evening, and while the restaurant's ambiance was quite lovely, the overall experience fell far short of our expectations, especially given the high prices.
Starting with the positives: the décor and atmosphere were warm and inviting, with festive Christmas decorations that made the space feel cozy. The menu is expansive, offering something for vegans, vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike, which was appreciated.
In spite of those positives, we were incredibly disappointed with several other aspects of our visit. First, the service. The host and waitress both had a cold, distant demeanor, which made us feel more like an inconvenience than valued customers. While our waitress did the bare minimum—refilling drinks and checking in on the food—she lacked the warmth or attentiveness that one would expect, especially at a restaurant of this caliber.
Next, the food itself. For the price, we anticipated high-quality dishes, but this was absolutely not the case across the board. We ordered the naan and falafel as tapas. The naan and its accompanying spreads were admittedly delicious, but the falafel was completely burnt—so much so that my boyfriend had to spit his piece out. We didn’t complain, hoping that the entrees we ordered would redeem the meal.
Unfortunately they didn’t. My veggie burger was overcooked, with one side completely burnt and the patty itself very dry. It had only a small amount of mayo, and I had to ask for mustard just to make it more edible. The fries were fine, but they couldn’t make up for how disappointing the burger was.
My boyfriend's Argentinian Pork Sliders were also inconsistent. Each slider had a different sauce ratio, with one having far too much mayo, another having a mix of mayo and green sauce, and the last one barely having any sauce at all. Worse yet, the temperatures of the sliders all varied, which made the dish feel hastily put together. While we’re not ones to waste food, my boyfriend struggled to finish the last slider.
Overall, Boca had a lot of potential to be a great dining experience, but the execution fell flat, both in terms of the service and the food quality. Given the premium pricing, we expected a much better experience and were left extremely disappointed. I hope management can address these inconsistencies and improve the dining experience moving forward. We would not likely dine here again.

First time for a birthday dinner and had a fantastic meal. The honey Ricotta, grilled Cesar salad , the Argentina sliders and the shrimp were all outstanding. Love the ambiance and decor. A first class evening

Went for dinner for a celebration. Been there three times so far. Was not a good experience this time. The other two were okay. Was hoping this time would be better.
Pizza I ordered was cold and not cooked. Dough was raw. Unimpressed with dinner. Food came late for two people in our group of four. So we ate while the other two watched. And two of us watched while the other two ate.
Restaurant looks good but the food isn’t good. For the price, saying I was disappointed is an understatement.

Like the other reviews, the food was bland and extremely overpriced. Ordered the brussel sprouts and they were almost raw. We couldn't eat them. The "paella" seemed like rice-a-roni with some dry meat thrown in.

Naan and trio of dips are always a favorite! I ordered a filet and my husband had paella. Filet was cooked to perfection! Paella was fantastic! You can not go wrong with any dessert! Jeff was our server, he was friendly and very attentive! Thanks Boca team for a great anniversary dinner! Definitely one of the best date night restaurants around!
