The chef was very nice and funny. He gave me all the extras nobody wanted! The rice was sooo good along with the veggies. I got the strip and chicken which was seared and cooked perfectly! Severs would refill your cup before it even went halfway down. Super quick as well.

After many years (25) of supporting Kobe’s of Hickory, last nights meal and service was the likely the last time. This use to be a regular in our restaurant rotation including many birthday and special celebrations. The last few times we’ve been, the chef has been sub-par, unable to cook the food to proper temperature, tough fillet, and absolutely no show. That was the whole reason for paying for such an experience. Very little interaction. Last night was the first time I’ve ever witnessed a fly land on food.. I reached out to make it go away, the chef tried to help however smashed the fly onto the grill. No attempt to clear that section of the grill or clean it. Nope, he carried on cooking as if nothing happened. It was absolutely disgusting. And while I’m sure we’ve inadvertently had cooked flies before, this was a first to be prepared right before our eyes.. maybe that is the new show.? If so, I prefer the flaming onion volcano like they use to do over the flaming fly.

This restaurant has awesome food with generous portions. It's been a family favorite for many years. I have never had any complaints at all. Anticipate possible long wait time since it's always crowded. Kobe is one of my top 3 restaurants!

On 2-23-25 we visited what had been one of our favorite local restraunts for a family members birthday. For over 25 years we have come and supported this establishment. One of our visitors has egg allergies, so that was asked to cook the rice seperate and extra crispy, this was an imperial dinner upgraded to ribeye, usual choice. Upon request the chef, later told name was William, snarled. As usual I leave my plate back a bit in case there is a mistake. William, not only ignored the request with an attitude but slung the rice across the spacing to the plate, few little pieces went over and on me. I got up and went to get a manager, whom stated he was the head chief and not acted like this before. By time I got to sit, noticed all the shrimp was standard, not jumbo, steak was over cooked. This is where things get interesting, I mentioned the shimp, something I've ordered at least 10 plus times a year for many years, and she stated imperials get regular shrimp. Now, in 25 years, the menu states and still states it's jumbos. Now the lady did discount 8 off, we will ignore the overcharged ribeye upgrade at 200%, but to worst thing was the tip was forced in, so the chef with an attitude messing with peoples food is rewarded for his poor attitude. Once he snarled at my request I live recorded everything, pictures from recording show 1, him, 2 him throwing rice across soup bowl onto plate, that went on me, 3 portions, and size of shrimp. I don't know what's happened to this place, but it's not the same.

Thought we would have to wait a bit but they took us right in and seated us then the waitress was there within a minute taking our drink order and couple minutes later she took our food order and in about 15 minutes after we walked in, the cook was getting started.... Couldn't believe how fast the service was and the food was great.... Highly recommend

Will never get my business again. I ordered the Hibachi chicken and shrimp dinner, take out at that. I got a very small portion of chicken and my shrimp looks like y'all gave me what was left in the back. Also, as stated, I ordered takeout, my total was 38.50 and tipped 2.00 (idc) making my total 40.50. I leave the store and get a text from my bank saying my total was 46.20, and then another one saying a transaction of 70.20 was approved. I called and they told they don't know what's going on and to call me back, (I did) and my bank told me I was charged twice, or they added a really good tip for themselves.

And to add to it. I return back to this janky ass establishment, because while I'm on the phone with the manager telling him what was wrong, and not being rude, he hangs up the phone. So, I just assume he wanted to see me in person. I go up there, tell him I thought it was rude that he hung the phone up on me. (There's also a lady who's being charged with something else) So I show him the portions that I received, and he tells me that didn't come from them, and I was wrong. At this point I go, "are you dumb?? I literally just left." Mind yall, he told me I was wrong and then proceeds to tell me the portions are like that because I didn't get any vegetables. (??) Where does that make sense exactly? He proceeds to the ask the lady beside me if he was lying (MIND YALL SHE ALSO HAS A PROBLEM) and before she can even say anything, I go why are you asking her? You work here, she doesn't. Anyways, yeah, won't be receiving my business ever again. Count your days LMAO

The food was alright not the best I have had. The cook was polite and interactive. The service with the waitress was ok. The waitress seemed irritated. Didnt get a refill. Probably want be going back. I didnt like the salad or soap. The rice tasted greasy. They have call ahead seating which cut down on my wait!
