No performance from the cook. Food was average and not worth the price. Used to be an experience.... now just a guy cooking your food in front of you.

My son had previously asked that we take he and his girlfriend to Kobe for dinner. The last time we tried to eat here, there was an hour + wait to seat 3 people. There was also no parking to be found. This time, we got there earlier, around 5:30pm. This time, the wait was about 15 minutes. Our group ordered an imperial dinner with filet, filet and shrimp, and hibachi chicken. Each meal came with the usual accompanying fried rice, vegetables, and cabbage, which makes for a huge plate of food. The food was very good. The filet, in particular, was super tender and perfectly cooked. The service was quick and attentive. The show was fun, especially for one member of our group who had never been to a Japanese steakhouse before.
Food good, wait staff very good, chef presentation very boring, just cooked, nothing else. No " show" that you pay extra to get.

Textbook experience. A little fun while food is being cooked with a few tricks. If you have food allergies, be sure to be very specific when ordering. Staff accommodated by preparing for in the kitchen instead of at the table.

We’ve been coming here for years and we will not be back. The shrimp sauce has the consistency of water and has no flavor at all. Not one person at our table got to eat our soup, because they had diluted it with so much water, it tasted like dirty water. We mentioned it to the waitress and nobody offered to replace them. Our chef never asked anyone at the table how we wanted our steaks cooked, and he proceeded to keep smashing our filet flat on the grill. By the time we got our filet, it was chewy, well done and completely flat. It’s very clear that the ownership/management here is trying to cut as many corners as possible. Zero quality anymore. Sad about this, but we will drive to Charlotte next time we want Japanese before we consider Kobe again.

Called in a 6:00 reservation earlier in the day. Arrived at 5:45 and confirmed reservation. Waited until 6:30 just to be told that there was three parties still in front of me.

This use to be one of my favorite places to eat! Two hour wait for no show, over cooked food drenched in teriyaki sauce, messed up orders. Cook didn't tails off of the steaks. Worst experience for the money I've ever had at a restaurant!!
Love going to Kobe, the food is really good, try to get to Hickory at least once a month for dinner. I wish they served tempura
