We stopped on the way to Asheville. With a table for 7 we all enjoyed our food...the service was great and the outside covered area was beautiful. We even browsed the little store and found itmes for home. Highly recommend! Oh and price was extremely reasonable!Parking: Just a small.lot ... we parked in the wrong place! Lol

I have gone to this many times in the past before the renovation and have enjoyed it a lot. I went about a week ago and was surprised, as far as I could see there seems to be only a couple of very young employees handling both the front of the house and the kitchen, I mean really young. The server although young and inexpirienced was pleasent and took care of me in a satisfactory manner. The food not so much, I could go into it but let' leave it at that. I was amazed that these two were all there was to take care of things. The food should never have been served the way it was. I have spent my whole adult life in the resaurant business and was amazed at the lack of any supervision. I'm not concerned with the age of staff at all but letting them kind of run things by the seat of their pants was really disheartening.

update: ate here mannnyyyy more times since this last review lol probably 3-5 times a month. best Mexican around, hands down. staff are fantastic, margaritas are out of thiz world - 10/10 recommendI've ate there twice so far and each time is fantastic. The food is amazing and the service isn't bad. I think the prices are pretty fair for the amount of authentic mexican food they give you. Don't get me wrong, I love me some El Paso or Dos Amigos... but this place is giving them a run for their money. Best chips and Salsa hands down. (All) Tacos, Quesadillas and the Huarache are all super good here. Cannot wait to keep trying more!

I stepped into the heart of Mexico at La Tienda! Wow. You can taste the love in every bite. Highly recommend the grilled chicken plate and Horchata. Elizabeth and her daughter, Jeannette, are diamonds!

Freaking amazing. best chips and guac, don't get me started on the meals!! Im not vegan but I ate some vegan options and it's unbelievable. I will be going back to see what their non vegan options are like. The staff was very helpful and it's a great dining

First time trying this restaurant in hickory. It was very pleasant. The food was good and the service was excellent. If you are expecting El Paso, you are not going to get that. It's a bit more authentic, so you do things their way.

Holy smokes- how have we lived here a year and not been here? A charming setting - very reminiscent of parts of Mexico.Such a friendly atmosphere with kind people.The food - wow! Flavor, preparation and quantity. Chicken sopes were outstanding. Beans are prepared perfectly! Pork chops on verde with nopales and red onions just divine .We cannot wait return. Sure to be our favorite!
