My wife and I were in Hickory for the 1st time during the 1st weekend of June. We love exploring breweries when in new towns. We stumbled upon Olde Hickory Brewery and absolutely loved it. The bartender, Jon, asked what we liked and explained all the beers they had, how long they’ve been in business and the restaurants and pub owned by them. Great spot to chill and enjoy visiting with John. I'm not a huge fan of their beers, but there is always a good chardonnay, so I'm good!
Had to find a brewery for our day trip out to Hickory and happy we chose Olde Hickory. I loved the aesthetic of the carved out bar in the brewery. Parking was right around the corner - you could definitely miss it if you weren’t looking for it. Not a ton of parking, but it’s a pretty small bar area. Olde Hickory Brewery, located in Union Square, Downtown Hickory, offers a cozy and calm atmosphere surrounded by shops. The restaurant has a friendly staff and a varied menu. The Bleu Burger is a popular choice, with a good bleu cheese sauce. The Fish and Chips are light and flaky, while the chips and dips are delicious. The brewery has a great selection of beers, including the Piedmont Pilsner, Hat Trick Lager, and Nova Hazy IPA. The owner did a good job selecting the Makers Mark Private Select Pick. The Table Rock Pale ale is cold and refreshing. Service by Reece is impeccable and accommodating to any questions.
