Olde Hickory Tap Room is located in Union Square in Downtown Hickory. I dined here on a Sunday so parking was easy as the area wasn't too busy. When I arrived the host immediately sat me at a booth and didn't try to seat me at the bar which tends to be common places. My waitress was as friendly as could be. I went with the sirloin steak; fries and salad. The sirloin was ok but I usually order another cut of meat that is leaner but that wasn't on the menu here. The salad was larger than expected so I didn't finish the meal but I rarely do. I was given both a to- go box and a tea to go. I almost returned for dinner here later in the week but then wandered around and ended up at their other restaurant at the train station.

When in town we love coming here for a Piedmont Pilsner. This visit we shared a Fish and Chips and it was light and flaky. The inside of the restaurant is dark, cozy, and surrounded by a bunch a cute shops in their downtown area.

This is the Best Brewery. Been in business for almost 30yrs. Been going there for years to their Hickory Hops beer festival. The food is great at the Tap Room, Train Station and Pub. Its brought downtown Hickory back!

Very cute pub with basic pub food. Reuben and Fish and chips were good. Waitress was super efficient and kept refilling my soda without having to be asked. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that there was a lot of dust in the bathroom floor.. a more efficient vacuum would get to those nooks and crannies. Seemed like a lot of locals were eating there. The booths are nice and private too so no one is overhearing your conversation.

Consistently delicious food, great service, great atmosphere, good craft beer and CIDERS, clean restaurant and restrooms. We ALWAYS visit when in Hickory from LA. Mariah, the waitress SUPERNOVA, always goes above and beyond! See you guys next trip!

Olde Hickory Tap Room is PERFECTLY located right in the center of downtown Hickory. The food is typical pub faire. For the most part I'd say it's fine, but their fish & chips just really hits the spot when you're in that sort of mood, & for that (plus the location) it earns an extra star. It is a nice place to watch a game, & I like that you can bring your dog if you'd like to eat outside.

The best fish and chips!! My wife and I recently moved to the area and have enjoyed everything we have ordered here. The service is EXCEPTIONAL.. I mean beyond...from the manager who has made us feel at home EVERY VISIT to the awesome people who clean up your table and take a minute to say hello...just great people!! Ambiance is perfect, especially the bar side for us! We have also sat on the "restaurant" side with our kids and had a great time and great service. Thank you for exactly what my wife and I have been looking for in a hometown restaurant and pub!!

Delicious sandwiches. I went in to order a to go order and was waiting, one of the bartenders saw me and insisted I sit on the order and she also gave me a glass of water as I waited. The place had many happy customers. It was a great experience.

Revisited after a long term absence. MEG & SAVANNAH rocked the bar with their frindliness and welcome. Super beer line up and the 1/2 lb angus burger is great. Will be back soon!

I stopped by to make a "To Go" dinner order. The "special " is Catfish, rice, etc.I ask the bartender, with whom I place the order to please be sure there was Tartar Sauce included. She said it was.I get home with my order... no tartar sauce. (Ever try eating dry, fried catfish?)Irritated, I call the Olde Hickory Tap room. I'm put on hold until a male voice answers.I explain what happened. He has the audacity to say he"ll give me a dollar off the meal since they're "only 50 cents each!!! He completely missed the point. I'm miles away....Ole Hickory Tap Room is touted as one of preeminent establishments in downtown Hickory. It's an unacceptable mistake on their part. Whomever Ispoke with was insulting by not understanding that the cost of the missing condiment was an issue.I'll never go back just because of the abject ignorance of the staff.

I've been to this establishment twice, and while the food and overall atmosphere was commendable, the service was not the best. Our server seemed to be more attentive to other tables as compared to ours, we also had to ask other workers for things during our second visit. However, our first visit was nice for the most part; although there was an issue with the server after we left that time as well. The dessert section was great, and the two ladies that worked in that area were very kind. I would recommend this establishment for the food, but if you're big on service maybe consider sitting at the bar or in the outdoors section.

Food and service are pretty consistent! I wish the brunch waffles weren't so crispy but no complaints overall! And you have to try their Marscipone (I'm sure I butchered the spelling lol) cake !!!

Visiting Hickory NC, we discovered this tap room... we were on the move, so just stopped to ask questions. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming, so after leaving we decided to circle back around and have dinner there. The crab cakes and the Reuben were very good, and the beers were also nice.Definitely a place we would visit again in Hickory.

Our first visit was wonderful! They have dark beers. In fact on tap they had three I could choose from and it was very hard to make a choice based upon the three samples are server, Carson, brought. But I choose the Porter over the two Stouts. On a different day who knows. I paired it with half a crab cake appetizer (split with my partner) and half a Ruben with pub chips (also split). The service (by Carson) was fantastic, the vibe was great, the food delish. Hope to be back.
