This past weekend I had my daughter’s baby shower at Market On Main. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement . I paid roughly $500 for the outside patio and a buffet with chef’s choice with only request of chocolate covered strawberries( big mistake). I was charged per person and due to recent hurricane, only half of the individuals came (roughly 15 people attended).The food appeared to be items left over from recent events they’ve had. Two hours prior to the event, I was contacted by the owner and he was still asking about food choices because no menu had been put in place. I’m an easy going person so I just let it go and was hopeful that everything would turn out ok. Once the food was placed out where the guests could eat, we noticed the strawberries were dipped in some white mixture, but definitely wasn’t prepared in advance. Once our guests were finished eating, I asked for to go boxes due to most of the food being left over and we wanted to take it to family and friends who were affected by the hurricane. I was told that they don’t do to go boxes because they feed it to their staff once the event is over. So I guess I paid $500 to feed their staff as well. So disappointing..

Let me just say the whole experience was amazing starting with planning it out with John and Ressa! I had searched and searched for the perfect place to host the dinner and got road blocks everywhere I looked! Not so with John! Every worry I had was immediately relieved! Anything I wanted was completely taken care of and not with a hefty add on charge! John even connected me with people he uses that are reasonably priced that could help me with things such as accommodations, florists, etc. And the food? Well let me just say it was amazing! We had the Caribbean Cookout with Crab dip as an appetizer! All of my guests seemed extremely impressed! The staff and bartenders were fantastic and so kind and professional! I just wish I had found Market on Main before all of the headaches of trying to manage everything myself! Thanks, John and Ressa for a memorable event! I couldn’t ask for anything to be any better!

The atmosphere is always relaxing and enjoyable. We have only ate here twice so far but both times the food has been excellent! The staff is always friendly. Brandon was our waiter this time and he was amazing! We will be asking for him every time we go back and we will be going back as much as we can!

Senior couple living on a fixed income and don't often go to the "higher class" restaurants, but every once in a while we ignore the budget and try someplace wew have never been for dinner. To be honest, that usually involves driving a distance - last year we went to Charlotte to eat on a rooftop and enjoy seeing the sun set and the city lights shine. This week, we decided to stay in Hickory and make it an early night. That's how we ended up at Duke's Restaurant at Market on Main. I ordered a bowl of soup and he ordered the porkchops and told the waitress we would share it as neither of us could finish a full meal at our age. One of us has alleergies and the waitress, MacKenzie, actually made a list and brought it to the chef to ake sure we would have no problems. The meal was served to us on two plates - MacKenzie assured us that two thick chops is the usual portion - we were blown away with the quality and portions served. Mashed potatoes and a waffle on each plate with mixed vegetables. The white asparagus stalks were unexpected and absolutely amazing. A small desert is served with all entrees and it was perfect. We were full from dinner - and we brought home leftovers that fed us the next day. The 10 dollar charge for sharing was a bit unexpected but we felt that was likely due to extra vegetables being given, and we honestly had no complaint. In fact, we agree we will be returning in the future. Great service, nice ambience and delicious food. 5 stars from us.

My family and I have been trying some of the home meal delivery kits and enjoy them but can’t always dedicate the time required to prep/clean up. With school starting back up, I needed an easy but quality alternative. I came across Market on Main’s Facebook page and learned of the chef prepared take home meals and was so excited at the prospect as my husband and I recently dined at Duke’s and really enjoyed it. During the first week, we tried bacon wrapped pork loin, chorizo stuffed peppers, creamy chicken with pasta and pot roast. Last week we brought home crawfish and crab cakes, shrimp and scallop diavlo, and pork shank. Every dish has been absolutely delicious! Our favorites were the crab cakes and pot roast. I am over the top excited about this service that Market on Main is providing! It is a life changer for this busy working mom! I can now have a delicious, healthy dinner on the table with very little prep time and instead of cleaning dishes after, spend time with my little ones. All this while supporting a local restaurant in these tough times. I urge you to give Market on Main a try-it will change your life!

We ordered the beef tenderloin and crab topped sea bass and it was beyond generous. It stated they would serve 2/3 people and it could have easily fed 4. We ordered side salads and veggies as well and again the portions were very generous. The prices were phenomenal based on the quantity and quality of the meal. We have ordered meals from other restaurants during this pandemic and by far this one has been the best so far. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in person when we can get back to life!
