The atmosphere is the best thing to enjoy here. The food was tasty but in comically small portions… there were only two croutons in my Caesar salad. The food quality to price ratio is wayyy too low
We arrived for our reservation and sat down - waited over 20 minutes without being greeted or even water glasses filled. There were plenty of servers who looked right at us and walked past us many, many times. Finally went to the host stand to let them know. Server was uninterested once she did arrive and food was subpar and overpriced. My husbands cous cous was literally one spoon full. Needless to say, we will not be back.
Our table of 6 all ordered fish, 3 different entrees and all delicious. Great service with water views and piano backdrop of music from inside.
All three courses were delightful. My grouper and my wife’s scallops were perfectly cooked! Our waiter, Alexis, took great care of us, and we were given a fantastic table to celebrate our 5th anniversary!
The food was excellent, and even on a stormy cold evening, the Verandah was beautiful by the lake.
Very nice char on the filet. Grouper was excellent and the bread pudding was fantastic as well as the carrot cake.
We have been talking about going to On the verandah for the last couple of years and finally made it. Wow. It did not disappoint. Great atmosphere. Beautiful on the lake. Amazing service and the food was amazing. Highly recommend. A new go to place on the Plateau!!!!
Wonderful service from Daniel. The food was beautifully presented & tasted incredible. Be prepared to spend a good amount but highly recommend. Perfect for a romantic celebration.

Excellent service, yummy food, and good drinks. We went at 6pm on a Saturday in late Sept. Two of us ordered the salmon special, and one person got the local trout with lemon butter. The salmon was delicious and perfectly cooked. The trout was average, and a large vertebrae was discovered mid-bite - but the staff was very apologetic and offered to make it right. Highly recommended for an evening meal - lovely ambiance overlooking the lake, relaxing live piano music, and very personable servers.

The food was fantastic. The wine selection is very large and varied. We went to celebrate a special occasion and the atmosphere was unrushed and welcoming, the view was quiet and peaceful, the live music in the background was exactly the right volume to lend itself to just unwinding and enjoying wine while staring at the water. We are already looking forward to going back.

Food is great, atmosphere is good, service is very very slow. It took about 40 minutes to get our cocktails and an hour from when we ordered to when we received our food. There were no other patrons in the dining room the majority of our visit; the screened in area did have tables of patrons.
We enjoyed all of the food, just be prepared for a 2+ hour dinner.
The parking lot is also very poorly lit, just be aware.

this was one of the better places food-wise we tried on our trip to the Highlands. Our server, Jessica, was top-notch, fun, and provided a good dining experience. The food was OK. We tried the lobster appetizer which was miniscule for the price, and the halibut special and spicy Thai shrimp mains. The shrimp took the prize for best tasting dish of the night.
We arrived early for a cocktail at the bar, and they have creative and well-made creations. The bartender was great and took great pride in making the drinks!
The view is not what everyone makes of it unless you have one of three tables where you could actually see something, and the decor needs a major makeover. Felt like we were in an old stuffy country club dining room. Overall though, much better food than some other places around town for the price.
Parking: do not bring a large vehicle to this restaurant. tiny parking spaces
