My scallops were delicious but my husband’s sea brass bland & looked poached. This restaurant needs updating but understand it costs money.

Such a let down considering how polished the staff was. The pork chop dinner was basic and flavorless, while the scallops were drowning in an overpowering sauce. What a gorgeous restaurant and setting only to be disappointed in lackluster cuisine.

Upscale dining with very reasonable prices. I don’t think they have air conditioning so it can be a little steamy in the summer. We were actually comfortable in August. They had live music and the little lady on the electric piano was fabulous. She had a fabulous voice.

We had a reservation, after being seated No One acknowledged us or said “we will be with you shortly”. So after totally being ignored we walked out a half hour later. Just got an “I’m sorry” from the hostess as we left. Rude!

What a wonderful evening. We enjoyed the shrimp 🍤 special and the filet mignon - both were perfect! And don't forget to order dessert: I had the bread pudding .... (so yummy) and my husband had the ice cream.
We usually come here for special occasions ... but it looks like we will be coming here more often.

Food was excellent, but at that price point in Highlands I expect friendly exceptional service and solid pours

The atmosphere is the best thing to enjoy here. The food was tasty but in comically small portions… there were only two croutons in my Caesar salad. The food quality to price ratio is wayyy too low

We arrived for our reservation and sat down - waited over 20 minutes without being greeted or even water glasses filled. There were plenty of servers who looked right at us and walked past us many, many times. Finally went to the host stand to let them know. Server was uninterested once she did arrive and food was subpar and overpriced. My husbands cous cous was literally one spoon full. Needless to say, we will not be back.

Our table of 6 all ordered fish, 3 different entrees and all delicious. Great service with water views and piano backdrop of music from inside.

All three courses were delightful. My grouper and my wife’s scallops were perfectly cooked! Our waiter, Alexis, took great care of us, and we were given a fantastic table to celebrate our 5th anniversary!

The food was excellent, and even on a stormy cold evening, the Verandah was beautiful by the lake.

Very nice char on the filet. Grouper was excellent and the bread pudding was fantastic as well as the carrot cake.

We have been talking about going to On the verandah for the last couple of years and finally made it. Wow. It did not disappoint. Great atmosphere. Beautiful on the lake. Amazing service and the food was amazing. Highly recommend. A new go to place on the Plateau!!!!
