Wanted to try this out as it was new this year and we wanted a good steak night out.

The atmosphere was really nice. The service was really great. We were seated immediately. Nice, big open bar area as well.

The food was delicious. We had the country fried steak, just thought what the heck. Instead of a big steak, we had that and it was delicious. A little salty, but really good flavor as you'd expect, and the meat was so tender, perfect. I had the Caesar salad with white anchovies. You rarely, I mean, rarely see that ever, which is the authentic Anchovy to have, so delicious. The dressing was obviously homemade. The best Caesar I've had in many years. Thank you. The cream, corn was okay, not my thing. But wasn't bad.

Overall a great dinner, Enjoy

Gone to this location multiple times through multiple reiterations and they would serve better food as a clothing store. Been there 10+ times and would rather do anything else… including Dave & Busters. I spent $500+ on a family of 4. Have fun…..

My husband surprised me with a night out for a celebration. We started with drinks and I ordered the Fall Spiced Old Fashion. It was absolutely delicious, but it wasn’t very fall spiced. It was so delicious though that I ordered two! We had the honey butter cornbread for an appetizer and now I can’t go there without getting it! I had the filet and subbed the potatoes and asparagus with the wild rice and corn. Truly one of the top 10 meals I’ve ever had. I wish we found this place sooner!

Best steaks in town!!! Highlands has many great restaurants, but Primary's steaks are by far the best. Highly recommend checking it out!

We had to move up our reservation from 6:30 to 5:00 and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. They even went out of their way to make sure my husband had a seat with a view of the football games. The staff couldn’t be kinder with delicious cocktails and even better food. This is a must-stop when visiting Highlands, NC.

Disappointing to say the least. We made reservations for 7pm on a Friday evening. We were promptly seated at 7 pm. Our waitress didn't approach us for approximately 5 minutes. The restaurant was pretty crowded but not jammed.

Once our waitress approached, she kindly acknowledged our anniversary. We ordered cocktails and an appetizer. It took another 5-10 minutes for us to receive our drinks and then another 5 minutes before getting the soup. We then ordered a Ribeye m/r, and a trout entree. A couple seated after us received their appetizers, drinks and entree well before ours. They finished their entrees before we received ours. It was approximately 1 hour before we were served. Sadly, the ribeye was luke warm at best. It had no juice and appeared to be resting under their heat lamp for a good while. My wife enjoyed her trout. We ordered a couple more of the same cocktails but one had to be returned as it was not what I ordered.

The couple next to us was surprised and made mentioned how long it took for us to get our meal. Our waitress did apologize but something should have been communicated to management on how long it was taking. Our waitress did serve a brownie for our anniversary which was a nice touch and tasted good. For $197, the inconsistencies, and subpar drink/food, was unacceptable.

Wife and I stopped by here while waiting for our room check in at 200 Main. We both had a glass of Chardonnay and I also had the lettuce wedge salad with a creamy blue cheese dressing and my wife had the chicken and waffles. Both were delicious.

In addition we really enjoyed talking with our bartender and server Matt. Really great guy, very friendly, and gave us a lot of good info on his journey to the Highlands area, and the local scene as well. Frankly if we had not already made dinner reservations would have come back for dinner based on his description of their dinner menu.

However, next time in Highlands will def come back to Primary to visit with Matt and enjoy a meal.

The menu has something for everyone. In our group we had the pork chop, hamburger, Primary Salad with chicken, and tuna tower. All were good. Nice ambience and friendly and professional staff.
