I was genuinely thrilled when I found out Mellow Mushroom was opening in Holly Springs. I had high hopes, especially since I’ve enjoyed other locations in the past. Unfortunately, this particular spot has been a complete and ongoing disappointment. I’ve really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. This place needs an upgrade in customer service. The bar staff ignored us for 15 minutes until my husband had to just call out our drink order. The bartender sighs, pulls out his phone, and says “well it’s like 3 minutes past last call”. It was 1030. They close at 11. Plus we had been standing there being completely ignored for 15 minutes. Mellow Mushroom Holly Springs is a pretty nice place with a great atmosphere, decked out with disco 70s flare. The pizza is amazing, with a crust that is next level, and the food is delicious and better than expected. The cheese bread alone is a highlight. The sweet tea tastes clean and like tea. Service is consistently great and amazing, with very nice, friendly, and helpful staff who give guests their space to enjoy the meal in peace. The experience leads many to highly recommend it and plan to return soon. A noted downfall is that it can feel cold inside.
