This was an interesting experience. First time to the place. I walked in, and there’s a white guy Aiden and a heavyset African-American woman behind the counter. The black woman starts talking about how white people are too friendly and she doesn’t like it, then her coworker says how are we supposed to behave? And she goes I don’t know , but you guys are too friendly I mean disgustingly friendly. I’ve got to tell you something, in this day and age, that was a huge turn off especially as somebody who’s actually white. I had a feeling she wasn’t crazy about white people because when she handed me my sandwich, she turned around 180°, handed me my sandwich without even looking at me, I said thank you, and she just walked away. I was disgusted by her behavior. If she doesn’t like it, maybe she should work in a black owned business because she has no right to be in an environment like that where she’s dealing with multiple races of people. How dare fire house hire somebody like that. And if you ask AIDEN HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHO SHE IS IN THE CONVERSATION HE HAD RIGHT IN FRONT OF A CUSTOMER. I 110% WILL NOT BE BACK.

UPDATE: no one has reached out regarding the roaches at my visit. But the owner of this location has replied to “positive reviews” that are dated 3 weeks ago, the same timeframe as my families cockroach experience at the restaurant. Apparently a guest experience with pests running the store is not reply or reach out worthy.

While having lunch with my family in firehouse, a cockroach was strolling across the floor. No employee seemed concerned that every guest in the dining area was standing up watching it roam. I finally went up to the people talking behind the counters and let them know. A young teen came out and tried to catch it, when it was not catchable the teen began to stomp on it to kill it. I get it but also we are all eating and have been observing this cockroach for about 10 minutes now. I complained to the company about the cockroaches, not ONE representative of this company reached out to me. I guess cockroaches are acceptable in a food setting. I won’t be back after this. Freaking gross and it’s unacceptable that no one reached out to me to ask about my experience at their restaurant. Kinda crappy business practice. It sucks because dang, I love me some firehouse subs. But be warned! There are absolutely cockroaches running in that building.

Wouldn't recommend if you're budget conscious but otherwise great.

A large sub was $20, no combo. That being said, service was great, restaurant was clean and would have been good to eat in, and it was a quick turn around satisfying the QSR factor.

Poor management, there were individuals vaping over the food. On there phones, not paying attention to customers. It was a lot and that was enough for me to never visit another firehouse sub store again!

I visited Firehouse Subs at 9826 Gilead Rd, Ste C-102, Huntersville, NC 28078, on February 13, 2025, at 7:01 PM. My order details:
Receipt #20083
Medium Club on a Sub (wheat bread, no onion, no deli mustard, black olives, cucumber, no pickle spear)
Total: $12.79

After waiting for my order, I noticed that when it was finally handed to me, it was not placed in a bag. However, I personally witnessed a white male customer receive his order before mine, and his was placed in a bag without question.
When I asked about this, the manager told me that the owner specifically requested that to-go orders NOT be placed in bags. Yet, I clearly saw them bagging other customers’ food without hesitation. So, why was I treated differently?

If you expect fair and consistent service, you’ll have to request it.
