Ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp and General's Chicken. Not worth it. Both tasted bland and the fried rice was tasteless. I'm not sure what happened to them because they were very good in the past. Was there a change in ownership/management? My husband picked up the food and said they are very nice and friendly but we both agreed the food was not good.
The food is always very good and the service is great. A little bit pricier than others, but their portion sizes easily make up for the price difference. Our favorite local Chinese restaurant.

A long time favorite with new ownership and food quality downgrade. I've been going to House of Taipei for 25 yrs, back when it was in the university area and for the last 20 yrs across from Birkdale. It was our weekly must go to restaurant. The ownership change 2 yrs ago led to a mass exodus of the people we knew and the food quality is just awful. Gone are the days of fresh broccoli and snow peas.. now its soggy frozen stuff. Chicken must be frozen too as its texture has changed....read full review
