“Not much to look at but the food was fantastic. We stopped on a whim and was a little concerned with the look of the place, the sanitation grade was 98 so it's clean. No seating, orders to go only. We ordered Flounder. Catfish, Shrimp, Chicken livers and Gizzards. All was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Backed beans and coleslaw sides were excellent. Next time, cause there will be a next time, we're going for the ribs. Call ahead or be prepared for a little wait as the is prepared to order. It's a hidden hole in the wall you gotta try.“

A few years ago, at my niece’s wedding, I struck up a conversation with a gentleman who mentioned he had opened a restaurant in Jacksonville, NC. Fast forward to today, I finally made it out to his place—Booby’s Kitchen—and let me tell you, the food wasn’t just good… it was shut-your-mouth-and-do-a-happy-dance good. Everything from the flavor to the portions hit the spot. You could taste the love and pride in every bite. If you’re anywhere near Jacksonville, do yourself a favor and stop by—you’ll thank me later. As for me, I’m officially stuffed and sliding straight into a well-deserved nap.“
