Absolutely love this place on the way down to obx!!
We had a wonderful experience with Sanctuary Vineyards at the Duck Cotton Gin Tasting Room. Nikki made the visit memorable: she was friendly, smart, and clearly knew the vineyard’s wines well. Sanctuary Vineyards is a very nice family run winery with a great local winery experience. The Duck Cotton Gin Tasting Room offers an excellent selection of red, white, and rose wines, plus beer and non-alcoholic beverages. The wines themselves are good, with great tasting red wines and a delicious dessert wine. A wine tasting is only $5 for five samples. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. One staff member was fantastic, entertaining, and accommodating, guiding the tasting with confidence and making the wines approachable and enjoyable. The owner stopped to chat, giving an informative overview of the winery and the area. The tour of the facility was unexpected and informative. However, the overall business experience could be improved. The website language about visiting the main vineyard was unclear, and the tasting room lacked a point-of-sale system for joining the wine club or shipping wine. Clearer visitors’ information and better purchasing options in the tasting room would strengthen the experience. Overall, Sanctuary Vineyards offers excellent customer service, delicious wines, and a perfect way to spend an afternoon.
