High Cotton Barbeque

Food and service were fantastic. Our waitress was efficient and friendly, the owner or manager was also out helping doing things like cleaning our table when I spilled a drink and refilling drinks. We tried a mix of all things and loved them all- pulled pork, fried chicken, collard greens, hush puppies, ribs, fries, brisket and sweet tea. Also all of this less than hour before closing. Thank you!

It’s hard to find great food as a traveler with a gluten sensitivity. They make incredible food that let me enjoy in total comfort. The pulled pork and chicken was excellent! I’d eat here every day if I could.

My wife and I are from eastern NC and this is authentic NC barbq. The night we visited they had chicken pastry and I kid you not, it was as good as my grandma's! Huge portions. Friendly staff.

On a weekday afternoon I stopped here for my lunch. It was a great pick!

The place is fairly easy to find and there is easy parking. Everything is laid out well with signs for eat-in vs carry out. You will want to follow directions.

The service was fast and friendly. They were very accommodating when I decided I needed a receipt after I first said no. There was nothing but smiles and polite conversation. I appreciate that in a restaurant.

Now to the best part of High Cotton. The food. Definitely worth your time to come and see. The pork plate was a belly full and good enough to make you say mmmm.

The NC style puts other techniques to shame. The pork has a chance to hold its own under the vinegar base sauce - not too much, maybe just a spoon full is all you want. The Brunswick stew was tasty as was the beens I had. Hush puppies - yep. Excellent.

Food is amazing, we got take out and the whole family enjoyed it.

Nice place to eat. Our food was delicious, and came out almost immediately. The portions are generous, and they provide both vinegar and tomato based sauces. Our service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. All of the standard dishes are recommended however, the baked beans, chicken and dumplings and pulled chicken were worth mentioning.
