My wife and I are checking out places for Breakfast in the OBX.How did this place even get a 4.3 star review? On this day my wife and I ordered breakfast. I have attached the receipt. There were only 7 people in the restaurant besides my wife and I so our experience was not from a overly busy kitchen or wait staff. We usually have coffee with breakfast but this morning we passed on that after the server told us she thinks the coffee is Maxwell House. And for $4 a cup we decided to go six blocks down the road to a regular coffee shop after breakfast where a cup of coffee is $2.45 even with refills. We ordered:1) A glass of Milk.2) Side of Home Fries and Sausage Patties3) Corned Beef Hash Breakfast that came with 2 Eggs, Toast or Biscuit. The Glass of milk was about a Half a Liter in size (not bad as they charge $3.75 for a glass)My wife had the Side of Home Fries and Sausage Patties. Her comment was the home fries were edible (not really fully cooked) and the Sausage was just fine.My breakfast… The eggs were done as I like them, and the toast was served still warm. However, that is where a pleasant breakfast ends. The corned beef hash was “Burned Black” (see the attached picture). I found it hard to believe the waitress would serve anything that burned. I asked to have some different corned beef hash. She said OK and 5 minutes later I received well done but not burned corned beef hash. Unfortunately, the cook did not clean the grill after burning the others and the new order tasted very burned even though it wasn’t.It was not until we asked for the check and the server came to take our plates away that she noticed how black the hash was and then apologized for serving the burned food. No, we will not go back. I cannot recommend this place for breakfast.

The food was phenomenal! Schindler's homemade lasagna was the best I've ever had! His grandmother's recipe is one-of-a-kind!! He even offered great locations to take my little man fishing. So personable and has a great smile! The restaurant is clean, inviting and beautifully decorated. Love the compass when you walk in! The atmosphere is great too! Loved that you can play Keno! They're one of two places that have Keno on the beach. Met the best locals! So friendly! The service was 50/50. Kristen was AMAZING!! Anne was a grump. She wasn't friendly, didn't smile the entire time and acted like we were an inconvenience when cashing out Keno winnings. She doesn't have anything on KiKi! If I had to say anything it would be they're one of the most underrated and underestimated places on the beach! Great value. You don't have to be a member to eat there. Maybe Anne just had a bad day but we'll be back again! The happy hour specials look great and cheap!

My only criticism is that if you've not been there before, the signage to know what you're looking for is easily overlooked. It, at the time of writing, is a blue vinyl that blends into the building siding with light lettering. We honestly didn't see it until we turned around and came back the other way. It may be that the focus is on the golf course and not the Tavern part and it's just a note to folks looking.Had the cheesesteak, after a long morning of medical procedures. The meat was well seasoned, thin, cooked well. Even the onions and peppers were soft without being mush and not overpowering the sandwich. The choice of bread was even an impressive compliment to the whole thing. It is currently the start of off season, so it was pretty empty. Food came out fast. Waitress was pleasant. All and all a good experience and kind of disappointing that I've lived here so long without realizing they were here

Very good food and great service as it was very busy for football Sunday. Ample seating and numerous TV sets with different games on to watch.

You can watch golf first tee off from the first tee while enjoying a sandwich and liquid refreshment. What could be better?
