I had the pleasure of having my thanksgiving meal here. Was buffet style, not a ton of options but just enough to keep you satisfied. My fave was the prime rib, it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel and surrounding grounds are just beautiful. Can walk the trail around the lake or simply take a seat at a bench and just enjoy the views.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Terrace at Lake Junaluska, NC. It is a great place for families to get together. Since it is a conference center, there are plenty of large open spaces to get together, and the outdoor facilities are large enough with activities everyone can do to pass the time. The building seems to have been updated fairly recently, and the lobby is super-nice with a large fireplace and view of the lake. Even if your room is not on the lake side, you can easily find a rocking chair to sit in the shade and soak in the mountain lake view! The lake is beautiful, and the 3 mile path around it is great for exercise. You can also swim in the pool, rent a paddleboard/kayak/canoe, play pickleball/tennis, workout in the fitness center, buy ice cream and crepes, etc. The Terrace is one hotel in a conference center, so the amenities are a bit spread out and do require walking or a really short drive. Breakfast is on par with a Hampton Inn breakfast but including a few more hot dishes than that. People are friendly. Waynesville is about 5 minutes away and is a very cute town for walking through small artsy shops or getting a bite to eat. Cherokee is about a half hour away. The Blue Ridge Parkway with hiking is within 30 minutes. Note that with this being a conference center, there will be large group and/or youth group check-ins all at one time during the day. This can lead to general noise and activity in the hotel, but we didn't ever find it to be a problem. There are quiet hours after 10pm. If you are looking for a good place for extended family to get together with group space or the ability to enjoy individual activities, this would be a great option!

expensive for what you get, Poor food, smells bad, its ran like a 5 star restaurant when in reality its a 2 star hotel for religious groups.

We went for Mother's Day Brunch. Food was excellent. Deviled eggs were great, salad bar was fresh, pork loin and shrimp were delicious, and the best potatoes au gratin ever! Looking forward to seeing what they have for Father's Day.

It turns out we paid the very high price for this hotel to be near a lake. But, for the money, you'll get nothing else. We regretted our booking once we saw what we were actually getting, and our five days here became the definite low point of our trip. The quality of the service, amenities, and hotel condition (including a pervasive unclean smell) is very poor. There is NO HOUSEKEEPING; they continue to take advantage of long-outdated covid-19 policies to provide NO TURNDOWN SERVICE to rooms during the day - so you will get no new linens, no new towels, no trash takeout, etc. In addition, the staff at the desk are apathetic, aloof, and unfriendly. And unfortunately, they did not communicate with other staff when we finally asked for new towels and sheets and trash takeout, so even after specifically requesting these, we still did not even get them. Save your money and stay in a Days Inn or Motel 6. You'll get a much better hotel experience for less than half the price.

Top location but almost no service provided. Vegetarians best to avoid this hotel as there are no options other than bread for you. The first day there was yoghurt, cut fruits and fried potatoes. From Day 2 none of this was there!!!! On being enquired was told that “we’ve runout!!!”………..so please replenish! Ain’t such a difficult task! Even ketchup for Gods sake! Further, there is no turn down service offered. So please be prepared to keep your trash outside yourself and be prepared to fetch fresh towels from the reception. These are basic facilities and not luxury by any standards. I mean one is prepared for no bell hop to take your bags to the room but basic cleaning over a 3-4 day stay is not much to ask for?

Peaceful, beautiful, relaxing accommodation. The views are beautiful and the hotel is very clean and quiet. A large area with seating and a pleasant fireplace makes a delightful place to meet family and friends.. Across the way is a coffee shop and gift shop

We booked a couples trip at The Terrace for 4 nights around Thanksgiving in order to have somewhere with beautiful views that also had lunch or dinner on site for the holiday. The Terrace seemed to fit the bill and even offered a package that included a lake view room, breakfast each morning and lunch buffet on Thanksgiving Day. We arrived in the middle of the night and were promptly greeted/checked in. I was asked to initial some paperwork which mentioned there wouldn't be housekeeping due to COVID, but to call if we needed anything. I think it's a little late in the pandemic to use that as an excuse, but alright. Upon entering our room, we noticed the room was spotless and well maintained. Big kudos to housekeeping and maintenance! The view from the window was breathtaking. Thanksgiving was fantastic - every single dish was delicious and staff was constantly present to make sure we had what we needed. The hotel itself was well decorated for the holidays and had lots of comfy seating areas. A few things were left to be desired: a very small bathroom with no fan providing little privacy, 2 rolls of the lowest quality toilet paper imaginable, 2 towels per person and no extra trash bags. Also, there was only one day's worth of coffee and a few tissues left in the box. This would have been fine if housekeeping was offered daily, but since it isn't, it meant we were going to have either call for basics daily or ask at the front daily, which is pretty uncomfortable and feels like you're asking for a favor. The first day I asked for extra coffee and coffee condiments they didn't have the condiments readily available and asked me to go grab some from the tea station. The first and only time I asked for trash bags, I was given a roll, which upon getting to my room ended up being ice bags that barely hold anything. It's funny how maybe $5 worth of extra supplies being left in the room on day 1 could have made our 4 night trip so much more comfortable (or even having a little door hanger to check what items we were low on to leave outside the door so that housekeeping could leave some in a bag). As for breakfast (which was paid for as part of our package) it is only offered from 7-9am. I arrived one day around 845am and many items were no longer available. I would normally arrive earlier than the last 15 mins, but most hotel breakfasts have at least a 3 hour window, and this was not a free breakfast. The waffle maker wasn't available during much of our stay, an aspect of breakfast we were much looking forward to. Overall I'd stay again if the price was fair enough to warrant waking up earlier on vacation for breakfast and bringing our own basics.

The good news is the the staff was nice, the common areas are well done and well maintained, and the coffee was great (although only available in the lobby from 6-9am and the dining room (7-9am). That's it for the "nice things." The guest rooms are uniformly small, rundown, and poorly lit (increasing their dingness). The beds (we had two double beds in ours, as do most rooms) took up most of the room and needed the mattresses replaced or at least rotated. It was difficult to not roll off onto the floor. The bathroom has only the toilet and bathtub/shower. The bathroom exhaust didn't work. The vanity and sink are in the room. Limited number of plugs in the room. There was "no maid service" despite that fact that we were here for 10 days. There was a system for exchanging towels, but nothing for TP or coffee (I raided the maid's cart). The combination air conditioner and heater worked intermittenly, but only if you monkeyed around with the thermostat, and when I was able to get it to work, it would only run until it shut off. To get it to start up, you had to monkey around with the thermostat. This made for some extra chilly mornings. I reported problem to front desk. Nice people, but nothing happened. The sheer curtains in the room's windows are so old they had sun bleached badly and had 3 rotted tears, each 1 to 2 feet long (and this was on the north side of the hotel, away from the sun!). Breakfast (included with most stays) is hit or miss. The dining room is only open for breakfast from 7-9am and is self-serve from a buffet steam table. the breakfast quality depends on whether there is a large group holding a conference/convention. If there are a lot of people in residence, it is fine. If there isn't a group in residence, breakfast isn't good ... to the point of the steam table not being turned on and the food being cold by 730am. The breakfast selection without a conference/convention in residence is **very** limited. Another reviewer suggested tearing the entore hotel down and rebuilding. I think that's a little drastic. Gutting and replacing all the rooms and upgrading the dinng facility is all this place needs. I doubt we will ever stay here in the future. There are too many other choices in the nearby towns.

This was the perfect location with a Lake view. Our room was on the 5 th floor (1510). We were 30 min. From Bryson City and the Smoky Mountain Train Depot. The Fall colors were amazing around the Lake and the walking trail around the Lake was fun and beautiful. There was a gas fireplace in the common area with comfortable rock chairs everywhere. The gift shop across the street had the best strawberry smoothie. The rooms had adequate space and the beds were comfortable.

Clean hotel with beautiful lake view. The only thing I wished they had is some restaurants in the area for dinner. We had to drive to a nearby town for dinner. This hotel seems to be a religious center but I didn’t feel any different from other hotel. The staffs are very nice. Good hot breakfast, bacon, sausage, waffle, French toast, coffee

No fresh air and no housekeeping. Windows can't be opened. Our room is starting to smell sweaty and musty after a few days. Have to ask for extra soap. Not much to begin with. To get more soap and tissues we have to go to the front desk: Staff not friendly on the phone. Not polite at all.

This is a lovely place to stay! The room was immaculately clean. The staff was efficient and friendly. Excellent breakfast options. The view was beautiful.
