We made a reservation 2 days prior. The food was a amazing. We had a very nice date night. It was our 1st time and loved it. A definite place to go back to. The shrimp and grits was excellent! The watermelon martini was excellent as well.

I was actually excited to try Cape Fear Seafood Company because it’s about two years since the last time I came, but unfortunately my daughter and I left disappointed. From the moment we walked in, we didn’t feel particularly welcomed. Our server was polite but not very attentive. We were never offered drink refills, no one checked on us consistently, and I even had to ask for a bag when leaving with three to-go containers. We ordered the crab dip, and I found a piece of crab shell in it. After I asked for a manager, he came over, picked the shell off my saucer with his finger to verify it, and took it back to the kitchen. The crab dip was removed from my bill, which I appreciated, but I expected the situation to be handled a little more professionally. I also thought offering to replace the appetizer would have been a nice gesture. There were also flies around our table throughout the meal. My daughter is very sensitive to bugs, and they bothered her enough that we decided to take our food to go instead of enjoying our meal in the restaurant. The food itself was average. The hush puppies were overcooked, and the fried scallops were just okay. I always tip because I understand how demanding restaurant work can be, and I did leave a tip. While I appreciate that the crab dip was removed from the bill, the overall service, atmosphere, and handling of the situation left me underwhelmed. I had higher expectations and hope future guests have a better experience.

Food was delivered quickly and hot. Our first visit. Shrimp and grits were amazing, the scallops in the jambalaya were cooked to perfection and the crab dip was tasty.
Peach cobbler was to die for and creme brulee was delicious as well.
