Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

I’ve had French toast at Cracker Barrel a lot over the years. Today I had the worst I’ve ever had. It was soggy inside even though the outside was nice & brown. It must have been soaked in the egg instead of dipped in it. I discovered this before I had used a drop of syrup on it. It’s usually puffed up & today it was flat. Very disappointed!

The food was good. The service was okay. But the restaurant was very dirty. None of the tables were cleaned and I figured the waitresses that have the stations where the tables were dirty should be the ones responsible for cleaning them.

Food was not as good as usual; entree a little dry and biscuits overcooked. Not typical for my m Al’s at CB.

Cornbread came out hard as a rock. Dumplings were extremely salty. The manager was unconcerned and very sarcastic. Didn't take criticism well and really didn't care at all.

Was busy. Had to wait for service. When waitress took our order she screwed it up. We had to wait for our drinks till our food came. We had to wait for corn and tater tots. Those didn't arrive till we were almost done eating. Even told the manager we didn't want the corn since arrived after we were done. We were told to take it anyway. Yes they did comp that meal but was ridiculous to wait on those then force someone to take something after being told it wasn't wanted.

Our sever was great. The food took forever to come out it wasn't just our order but several others. One server proceeded to tell a table that their order was lost and they were about to order again and then their food came out. This is not the severe fought. This is poor management in the kitchen.

We waited for our food for over an hour and then when we did get it some of the food was lukewarm. The waitress wasn’t attentive and didn’t offer an explanation for why it was taking so long for our food. We finally went to the hostess and told her the situation and she was the person who brought our food out finally.

Have been a LONG time customer of Cracker Barrel in Lexington NC and my visits just keep getting more disappointing. I understand the price increase for the food but I don't expect the quantity and quality of the food to decrease. Hard, cold biscuits, extremely small portions than use to be, fried okra was rubbery and cold, lumpy grits and Grandpa's breakfast would shame Grandpa in the little to nothing portion. Also a piece of Coca Cola cake that costs almost $6 should be much bigger than a 2x2 inch square.

Did a take out order. Got it home and they left off part of the order and no syrup for pancakes so basically the entire order was messed up. Have been going for years but won’t be going back.

My husband always orders the roast beef but it has been discontinued. We would love for you to bring it back so I can continue to enjoy going to the Cracker Barrel. 😃

Parking: All the close in are reserved for pick up. Very unpleasant!
