I was at the drive-thru at Hwy 55 in Locust, NC last week and they were out of French fries and tea. Iced tea and French fries are a staple in the South and a restaurant should never run out of those two items.

I stopped going here because the food wasn't good, and they were constantly out of the things I wanted. Heard they had new management, so I went to try them out again... I should have known I'd be wasting money... parking lot was empty. I should have listened to my gut. Got a little burger it was all but raw, only the outside was browned... onion rings even after asking for them to be overcooked were soggy. My ranch had chunks in it... I sat there and tried to eat but ended up tossing my food, paying and leaving. I miss the hwy 55 when it was by Walmart, so so so much better. I used to be a regular it was my favorite burger joint... Don't do it, dont waste your money it's sad how this place went down hill big time after moving when they first opened this one it was good but it didn't last long at all.

What in the world has happened to this place? My husband and I went tonight, 11/10/24 around 6:30, and the parking lot was empty except one car that was parked on the side towards the back. We thought they may have been closed when we pulled in but noticed a customer standing at the counter when we drove around to the drive thru. We sat at the speaker for several minutes before we were acknowledged and the girl taking our order apparently wasn’t aware she had her headset on and we could hear her having a conversation with other people. She finally asked us what we wanted and we ordered a chicken cheesesteak all the way meal with tots and a Philly cheesesteak all the way with tots. I also asked for a cookie dough concrete and she said they were out of cookie dough so I asked for a Reese’s and she said they were also out of them but she had Snickers. I declined and she told me to pull around. We sat at the window several minutes and the girl opened the window and asked us what we ordered. We told her and we waited about 8 minutes and she came back and asked us again. At this point I was shocked and thought well maybe she is by herself and having to do everything. No, I realized later when we parked and ate that there were 5 employees total that I could see, that were “working” weird zero customers in there. Anyway, back to the window, another girl comes to the window with a bag and said “Y’all had the online order right”. I told her no and she asked us what we had. At this point I was thinking this has got to be a joke. She handed us a bag and I could hear music playing behind her with the window open. As I was pulling away I could see several girls dancing. We parked and opened our boxes to the most ridiculous cheesesteaks I have ever seen from this place. I had chicken and husband had Philly. His was AWFUL. The beef was super thin and crispy and a few were so burnt they were crunchy! He barely had any cheese or onions and peppers that we could see, plus it wasn’t even full. My chicken was just ok and not chopped like it normally is and I think I found a couple of peppers and onions on mine. Tater tots tasted like oil. The best thing was our sweet tea. $26 spent on trash. We were so unhappy we went to Burger King and ordered a burger. We have ate at Hwy 55 several times since they opened the new location and it had NEVER been like this. The place seems to be run by teenagers. What is going on and where are the adults? We will not be going back until this place gets fixed.
***12/3/2024 UPDATE*** Michael, the manager/owner, reached out to us privately and apologized for the experience we had and refunded our meal for that night. He also offered to compensate our entire meal when we decided to go back, which was tonight. He chatted with us briefly and apologized again and said he would make sure our meal was made fresh and correctly. We ordered the same thing and it was MUCH better and looked and tasted exactly the way it is supposed to! He also gave us a card for a free Concrete Shake, since we were unable to get one the last time. So glad there is a manager there now that cares about a customers experience! Michael is wonderful and Hwy 55 deserves to be given another chance now that he has taken over! Also added pics of our food tonight!

Hwy 55 in Locust N.C., I'm giving a 1 star review. The cheese steak combo was horrible. The steak was very little and near burnt, the tater tots were very greasy and warm at best. The sweet tea was the best part of my meal. I'm not a happy customer! The restaurant seems to be run by a bunch of teenagers with no management. Probably won't ever return.

First time there since they moved to the new building and was excited to eat there again till we got our food the chicken and Philly cheesesteak was dry and not good, salad was $10 and not worth it at all had no cheese in it or cucumber. They was out of a lot of things and we got there as soon as they opened. For that to be a new building just put up the floors and door was dirty and nasty and couldn't eat because of the Flys in there. Definitely will not be going back... Something needs to be done or I don't see it being around for to much longer

Took a hour to get food after ordering online. Got to the window and was told they didn’t have meat to make one sandwich or any tea. Got home after finally getting food to cold burgers, fries, and the order of onion rings we received only had 5-6 maybe rings in it. Place needs some serious help. I do not recommend!

When we arrived at 7:00 in the evening and there was no one else in the restaurant we almost left but decided to stay after being greeted by a friendly waitress. Our food was good. Unfortunately, management has failed these workers that are showing up to work. They were out of some of the drinks, and out of ice, which should never happen if you order and plan accordingly. When another couple arrived, we over heard them being told they were out of something else that was on the menu and when things like that happen, customers take it out on the waitress and that's not their fault. Management needs to step up and do their job!

The store was dirty at 1130 am on a Saturday there were no off available the tots were cold the chicken fingers were chewy and tasted like old grease was not happy with service the girl was nice but kept forgetting our drink refill and the tables and booths we're dirty my wife had to clean the before we sat down

They were out of half the stuff they sell, such as chilli, tater tots, shrimp, pickles, custard had not been thawed, among other menu items. There were two waitresses working the floor but only one was doing all the serving, the other one was sitting at the counter playing on a tablet. There were five tables that were full and that one lady was doing all the work and the other girl never offered to help. This is not the first bad experience we've had at this restaurant, the other time the waitress started to give my credit card to another customer. We will not be eating at this establishment anymore.
