I usually love fish camps, but this was awful. I ordered scallops, and when they sat them in front of me, I told them there was a mistake because I didn't order them blackened. They proceeded to tell me they weren't blackened....that is just how they come. They had turned these scallops to pure scallop jerkey. There wasn't a drop of moisture (or flavor) in them. Needless to say, we won't be back.

The vintage look was obvious. Server especially nice. Food quality, taste, portion, freshness failed. Will not return.

For those of you who aren't old enough to remember what a "fish camp" is, this is it! 3rd generation of family ownership. Scratch-made tartar sauce, onion rings slaw and hush puppies. Catfish fillet meal is strips, not a full slab. Still delicious; not greasy, and batter was not over-salty. Service was a slow for the size crowd. Server was managing 4 tables with total of 7 people. Never refilled my drink. Was offered more hush puppies, but they never arrived. Also got the wrong slaw: ordered sweet and received sour. I'll come back for the good. food, but probably lean towards take-out next trip 5 food and 2 star service.

This used to be the place to go back in the day. I remember when I was a kid and we went by there, and the parking lot was full and people were parking on the side of the road to get in there and get good fish. Now, it’s overpriced and they don’t give you enough to eat. The last time I was there Paid 29.95 for a seafood platter and ate every bit of it! Everything in the on the plate, including the hush puppies. Used to be if you paid that much for food at Jones Fish Camp you would have half the box to take home with you, but not now. The whole flounders start at $35 and go on up for whole flounder. That’s just ridiculous to have to pay $35-$45 for a whole flounder. I don’t care if it is fresh. The slaw is soggy and had it been made fresh every day. It would be good but now it’s just cabbage that sits in vinegar overnight , so strong you have to strain the cabbage out so you can eat it. I kept trying to go here because I used to like the slaw and the fish but when they started cutting back and not giving you enough to eat, but charging you an arm and a leg I just have to say no . A week after I paid $30 for their seafood platter and didn’t get enough went to Lincoln Seafood and paid $18 for a seafood platter and got so much fish and took half of my box home with me. Sorry Jones Fish Camp but you’re a dinosaur of the past I believe. Only the diehard will still come and pay those exorbitant prices, but our family can’t afford to eat there anymore . So sad. The best location was when Roger had Jones Fish Camp up on Springs Road. They gave you plenty to eat and our restaurant stayed packed for four hours lined up out the door. We made 55 gallon buckets of slaw fresh every night and we wouldn’t let it sit in the refrigerator and try to re-serve it the next day. That’s just disgraceful, graceful and uncalled for. Don’t waste your time.

We went to Jones fish camp one night for the first time . The fish was good and had a good taste but they were very skimpy on the fish ! 38.00 for two people and all we got was 3 pieces each . The hush puppies were nothing to brag about either . They were too small and too. many of them ! They should have put in more fish and less hush puppies ! We usually go to Lincolnton sea food 0r captain D's ! They fill the box up with fish ! We can usually eat two days off of theirs ! Unless something changes , we probably won't go back ! It wasn't worth it !
