Baked crust of empanada so good. Chicken was okay but would've been super good with spicy sauce but I forgot to add it on. This place has been around for 2 years and apparently the South American population has been growing here.Desserts are flavorful and different than what obx usually has but obx is going to get more variety because it is just becoming that much more of an in demand location to visit or live in.Staff is friendly. Treat yourself, treat a friend, or just go to Pionono Bakery to treat your taste buds! The empanadas were sold out so we waited for the fresh batch and it was definitely the best decision! They offer two kinds: beef or chicken. Enjoy it with the sauce if you want heat and another layer of flavor. The filling and crust are perfectly paired and just delicious!! Highly recommend this place. It is next to the grocery store. A quick lunch.. delicious chicken, rice and potatoes. The potatoes had a delicious sauce . We also had a delicious beef empanada that actually had real beef not hamburger in them. Wonderful! We never had Peruvian food but definitely would go back again. They have a small counter to eat in, maybe 6 stools . They have a nice selection of desserts, although we did not try them .
