We had dinner there tonight and it was AMAZING. Our server Emma knew so much about the menu and she was just overall so sweet and funny! We also felt good with having our kids there. Some restaurants give off bad vibes whenever kids are there but not this one. Plus they do utilize local meats and ingredients.
I will always support the local folks who support the locals, I mean, it literally says it in the name of their restaurant! Food from McDowell Local feels like a hug, and the fact everyone in there is a part of the community (and they source local foods and local brews means a lot. This place has a lot of potential! But our lunch here was so average. First, they were out of almost everything but waited until we ordered to tell us what they didn’t have — from beers to sandwiches the offerings were minimal and the staff did nothing to help us understand what they actually had making the process frustrating. Food was fine, no complaints. Ambiance could be improved, it’s a nice space but it has a dark and dingy vibe.
