We traveled to Charlotte today for family time and found this restaurant near our destination. We got to town early and decided to eat. I got the bruschetta and mozzarella sticks. The bruschetta was on bread that was very soft in the center with crispy edges. It was perfect. Huge slice of mozzarella, which was made in house. On top of that was the diced tomato glazed with balsamic. The mozzarella sticks were crispy. They gave me a basket of complementary garlic knots, which were absolutely amazing with homemade marinara sauce. They have a large selection of beer, wine and liquor with 18 local drafts on tap. The staff was super kind and brought me a box for my leftovers with smaller containers for the sauces. This place is super nice inside with several televisions and music. The bar area is my favorite. Two appetizers and three beers with the knots was only $40 bucks! Well worth the stop.

This afternoon around 4 my wife and I went to John's Place (one of our regular places). It's always very loud in there, but it's the bar/pub side and we always get good service from Travis, Elijah, Miles, and others. We sat at one of the tables around the perimeter and Alex took our order. There was a VERY loud, obnoxious drunk cursing vulgarities at the bar. I'm not a prude, but I'm not vulgar in public either. The bar tender came to the end where the drunk and his buddy were celebrating and they got even louder. When the drunk let go with another loud "f___" I got up and walked over to them. Addressing the bar tender I told him that we'd had enough of this behavior and he responded defensively to me, "This is a bar". If I need to explain why this does NOT justify behavior like this well, you're just too stupid to understand. He said again "This is a bar" so I asked his name (Dave) and I told him I'd fix him up. So, here it is. I feel confident that no owner or manager would tolerates a representative like 'Dave'. Yeah Dave, there's a bar on that side of John's Place/Marios but there's also floor and side tables for people to eat. And there's no excuse for either the loud drunk or for the owner's of John's Place to keep anyone in there employ that defends unacceptable behavior.

John's Place always produces good food and a pleasant dining experience. The bar is full service, and it is a good place to watch the game. I enjoy their specialty steaks and pork chops. The pasta is always good. I like their Margarita pizza, as well as, white pizza. I would like to see a side salad option instead of ordering a full salad. The drive thru window is convenient for pickup ordering. I like the selection of beer on tap, and the bartenders are top notch.

Had shrimp and grits, it was okay. It was drowned in sauce. I also found a piece of shrimp skin after taking a bite. $17 for shrimp and grits you would think it would be decent without surprise skins.

We actually were on the Mario's side enjoying supper. Lasagna and if you like pasta with white clam sauce you will not find it as good any where around....and I have looked.Parking: There seemed to be a lot of parking, but we always go early in the evening.....Wheelchair accessibility: It's easy to get to the doors and through them....roomy inside to be able to move a wheelchair around.

We had a surprise birthday party for a family member today!! What a great time. We had use of the Queens room, The food was great as usual but I need to bragg especially in our server Jeanette. She was amazing she handled us all with efficiency and grace!! I know we drove her crazy but she was amazing!!!! Thank you John’s place for a wonderful time and again kudos to Jeanette !!!

Tuesday is $12 brick oven specialty pizza and 1/2 bottle of wine. Pizza was great, wings perfect and cold beer!! Travis is one of our favorite servers, he'll take good care of you.
