Mr. Tokyo delivers big on value without compromising quality. For a sushi buffet, it’s hard to beat, the rolls, makis, onigiris, tempuras, and sides were consistently fresh and well-prepared. Service was just okay, but the price-to-quality ratio more than makes up for it. A solid spot for casual sushi lovers who want variety, flavor, and a full belly without breaking the bank

I visited Mr. Tokyo for the first time, and I have to admit, I was thoroughly impressed. The menu was simple but nice. We went during lunch, so the price was $14.99. All you can eat. The variety for the price was excellent.

I heard rumors about Mr. Tokyo, but the location in Matthews didn't seem to have that problem. (IYKYK). All and all the service was good the food was great, and I can't wait to visit again when I'm in Matthews.

Absolutely terrible. Management could not care less what problems you have, they love to say that they are “a manager, but not THE manager” while they smugly laugh at you because you’re asking them to handle disruptive patrons. Terrible management, terrible way of relating to people. Avoid at all costs. This was my daughter’s favorite restaurant until tonight. Absolutely terrible management staff. Furthermore, the fact that customers “cannot be told” who is in charge above the restaurant is an absolute joke. Terrible, awful, and a shame.

Honestly love how delicious and affordable it is! Last few times everything was served so fast and fresh, and servers have been great! Maybe the floors and bathrooms should get a little more attention.. but otherwise love it

Very disappointed with the service. I came to eat and my friend was running a bit late. The place was completely empty, I was the only guest — yet they refused to seat me without her. I had to stand and wait, even though there were plenty of free tables. This kind of unwelcoming and rigid attitude makes no sense. I won’t be coming back and don’t recommend it.

Been coming here for years, and since then I have noticed a decline in business. The ace is dirty, the workers sit around on there phone with their shoes off, and they sit you right beside other people cause they’re to lazy to walk across their small restraunt. Me and my dad came here to eat today and the food was good, other than there being so much rice on the nigri, so I took some off. When the lady came by she said so are we done at we not gonna eat any more of this rice, I politely said no there was more rice than fish. And she said that her manager would get mad if she wasted it so she had to bring it to her manager to see how much to charge us. They charged us 2.00 extra, not a big deal, but the waitress needs to learn social skills to bring the issue up better. The last time we were there we also heard the waiter say they charge if 3 or more rolls are waisted, the rice didn’t amount to that. So in all the waitress got a bad tip so Mr Tokyo could get 2.00 more and Mr Tokyo lost us as customers forever. They obvious don’t care about their jobs and it shows, if they cared they would read their concerning reviews and maybe even reply, would love a reply, but i won’t get it.
