We decided to stop by and see the Mariachi band. It was fun and they sounded great! The food was overall good, but small details could be improved for a 5 star. The waitress was very friendly and was bilingual so there was no worries for me as I only speak English. The atmosphere was very cheerful and inviting. The decor was very authentic and beautiful as it looked like the chairs and tables were hand painted. We will definitely be back!

With Monroe's growing Hispanic population (28.8%) comes the pressure to supply more places serving authentic food like Mom made at home. Enter San Juan Foods. Opened in October 2023 this is more than a "rice and beans/chicken or beef" operation. And I love it. Today for breakfast, I ordered the Chilaquiles San Juan which are soft, fried tortillas simmered in salsa verde topped with onions and sour cream, a large slice of salted beef, 2 scrambled eggs, beans, and toast. It was delicious, well presented, and quite a bargain at $13.00. Carried a pile of it home for leftovers. Mmmmm. The assortment of offerings such as Camarones A La Diabla, Mojarra Frita, or Parrillada San Juan guarantees I will be back. With others in tow, too. Warm, friendly, and lively environment has my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter dancing along with the live Mariachi band every Friday 8-10 PM and Sunday 7-9 PM. Go here. Note: I docked 1-star due to a low Health Grade. I spoke to the owner's son, whom explained their inspection coincided to an upgrade in better equipment, which left some products out of the proper temperature range. He assured me all was well and was looking forward to their next inspection.

Do not order the queso!! Petty sure it's just Velveeta. Tables are WAY too close together. That being said, the rest of the food was good. The guacamole was excellent. Service was good.

Checked San Juan out because it was reported as more authentic. Definitely was you could tell by the menu, regular items but much more plus a bakery on site. Kind of reminded me of a Mexican Diner. Food was great, service was excellent. Much hospitality. Will be back.
We loved Jacque!!! She was awesome. She gave us excellent customer service and help me figure out what I wanted. She really made it a great outing. The food was excellent and I like the fact that they're in house with preparing all of the food. As in the breads, desserts, and the atmosphere was great as well. For sure returning for another great time.

Very friendly atmosphere, and very affordable!
