We had friends come in from NY and wanted to take them to a nice restaurant. Big mistake! We ordered filet mignon and it was the toughest and tasteless filet we have ever had! When we told the waitress, her response was take it home to the dog! $200 bill and not even a discount offered!

we wanted to try this restaurant at the recommendation of a couple locals. This place is huge, seats around 400 people. We had a 10 minute wait to be seated. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and took our drink order quickly. We started with lobster bisque and calamari. The lobster bisque was more of a cheese soup and hardly a hint of lobster. The calamari was soft and greasy, to the point that the bottom of the serving plate was swimming in oil. We also had a dozen oysters, which proved to be good. I ordered a combo platter, which I would say was good but not great. The others in our group had similar comments about their entrées. My wife and son-in-law both ordered grouper. They agreed that it was dried out. My son-in-law ate his anyway, but my wife sent her his back and was comped by the restaurant. it’s just my opinion, but it’s really hard to serve decent food to 400 people at a time. I think this place was trying its best but not quite making it.
loyal customer for years. often eating at big daddy’s every friday night. this may be coming to an end. went with friends (party of 8) on a recent friday night. being from the chesapeake area, knowing this is crab season, i decided to skip the soft shell crabs ( which are usually stellar and a great buy at 3 for less than $30) and order the crab cakes. NEVER again! chose grilled rather than fried but it appears regardless of the cooking method, these were frankly, not edible. had i had any sense at all, i would have sent them back but we had a new waitress handling a large group of people, and i just did not want to make a scene. my mistake, and i own it, but this is a warning to others who know seafood - steer clear of the crab cakes. order came with two cakes, which looked like pancakes, flat and about 4” in diameter. should have been the first warning but i kept thinking it had to get better. in fact, it got worse. since it is crab season, i expected lots of fresh crab meat with virtually no filler but instead i got the exact opposite - lots of filler, old claw meat (if any), and a seasoning that could not hide the taste of the old crab. i was beyond disappointed and will never make that mistake again.
Very disappointing that you guys don't take reservations almost a month out because its mothers day. Oh well we will take our large dinner party business elsewhere. Might be a blessing in disguise as the food was bland and overpriced the last time we were here anyways.

Just don’t go here-! what a shame that a place that used to serve good food at good prices now sucks! the food was subpar, the place is old and dark and skeevy, and prices are RIDICULOUS! half the menu has Market Price which for a dump with crappy food and decor from 1963 is a complete joke! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HAS BEEN HORROR SHOW! Ugh
