Apps & Taps is a great little dive bar nestled up high on a hill overlooking Lake Norman with plenty of boat parking and $5 bloody marys on Sunday!We kind of stumbled upon this place after failing to find a boat slip at the neighboring restaurants but I'm so glad we did! You can't beat the view from the patio on a sunny day with a refreshing beverage! The menu was HUGE. I'm honestly not quite sure how the kitchen keeps up with such a variety on the menu. I decided on the blackened chicken Caesar wrap which was actually *incredible*. The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and the Caesar dressing just brought everything together. The side salad was wet and the plate became watery. It was almost like the lettuce leaves had been washed but not dried so I thought that was interesting. But other than that, great spot to grab lunch!Oh, and no shoes required on the patio!

This place is overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. Drinks on the patio are served in styrofoam cups.... Super classy! Whatever you do, do NOT order anything from the pizza menu unless you want to eat a half hour after everybody with you does because they literally run out to a food truck in the parking lot to get it for you. It's understaffed and unfriendly. On the positive side, they play good classic rock and it's on the water with good boat parking. My advice after twice in a row having crappy service, save yourself a headache and go next door where the food is great and they treat you like you matter no matter how busy they are.

Good menu selection....but the pizza is some of the best in the area! Full bar with equal indoor and outdoor seating. Big parking lots but with the three businesses together on the water parking can be tricky, especially if there is a concert in their upstairs venue the pontoon.

I'd give it zero stars if I could. We went here for a night out to hear a fun cover band. We were having a great time, minding our own business when security came over and told us to leave because someone complained about us. I'm still baffled by the whole experience. Come to find out that someone wanted our spots so they tried to intimidate us and became the harassers in the situation, yet we had to leave.There is a local or 'members only' vibe here. It was very uninviting and we'll never return back. It's a shame because it could be a cool venue for concerts. There are plenty of other venues around the lake that are more welcoming and embrace a diverse atmosphere.

Yuck! Horrible place. Dirty and run down. My arms stuck to the table because it was dirty and sticky. We sat at a large table because there was ten of us but since there were 3 seats open at end of the table 3 men just plopped themselves down. One sat at vaped right next to my daughter and then promptly slapped the table and killed a fly right next to my daughters food. These men were loud and drunk. Next problem. Our drink order was wrong and it took 45 minutes to get our food. Everyone received their food except my 10 year old niece. When we asked the waitress where her food was she was very rude. She said the food truck, yes food truck, (I thought I was at a restaurant) was backed up and she wouldn't be getting her food for another hour or so since they take over the phone orders first. What! So we said to take it off the bill. The waitress was so incredibly rude I couldn't believe it. Shall I continue? Yes I will. My brother in law ordered a beer. Never got it. My husband ordered another round of ice tea for us. Never got them. By the way if you like ice in your iced tea forget it. So we ask for the check. Rude waitress decided to over charge us for more drinks than we ordered so we had to get that fixed. We were in that dump forever. Oh and don't go to the bathroom unless you like dirty gas station bathrooms. Lucky for rude waitress she got a a nice tip because we were forced to pay mandatory gratuity for 10 people. She deserved nothing. She was rude, slow and got so many things wrong. We will never go back to that dump again. Sure would be nice if someone else bought it out and made a better restaurant because the view is fabulous. Anyway save your money because on top of everything else this place is pretty pricey for a fly ridden crap hole

Went here without lookint at the reviews and wish I did ahead of time...Just some quick reasons why I do NOT recommend this place:-only 2 highchairs total in the restaurant (according to the server). The two are the regular size. 90% of the tables here are bar height. You would need to stack 3 highchairs on top of one another for it to be the right size.-it took 8 mins to get a glass of water. (The temperature was 90° that day)-no actual plates, just paperThe food was actually really good though! That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 3.

Went there today and tried to get seated. Went to the host stand and stood there for 5-8 minutes with no one greeting us. Finally a server said we'll be with you soon then 4 servers stood in front of us talking to each other and drinking their drinks. Many people walked by us who worked there. I have no clue who the hostess was . We waited another 5 or so minutes then left and went to Toucan. It's such a shame as I really wanted to try some of their apps, but customer service is important. If they would have just took our name and said we'll call you it wouldn't be a problem, but there were over 5 people walk by us who worked there and nothing.

Eddie Z here again. Aside from the hickory smoked wings,everything else is from freezer to fryer to table.we ordered French fries,fried calamari,wings,and potatoe skins.fries were bathed in salt and pot skins inedible.calamari just ok.everything we took home is now in garbage.

We do enjoy coming here for a drink parking our boat while on the lake. They have a good selection of beers on tap. The appetizers are fine but am underwhelmed by the rest of the food. We usually go elsewhere for lunch. It has a lot of potential but needs to improve.

We tried the Pizza at apps and Taps for the first time last week and it was GREAT!!! highly recommend those!! we had meat lovers !! and it was loaded!!
