Very nice airport. The baggage claim and ground transport are pretty close to the arrival gates. Rental shuttle and parking lot out only a short distance. Easy to exit onto the freeway.
RDU is great, organized, and smooth. I usually get there 1.5 hours before my flights. I take my time and always make it to my gate with time to spare. Make sure you have your ID ready and your ticket on hand. I must mention I usually fly early mornings or late nights. Never had a problem and fly about 6 times a year.
