Smoke and Barrel Cigar Bar and lounge

Great Bar, DJ was excellent, cocktails were exceptional. It is a membership lounge.

Regular customer who never had a terrible experience until last week….

Came to spot 15 minutes before spot opened with a business colleague of mine (no cars in parking lot). Ended up at the food spot next door to eat a sit down meal. Came back about a hour later to get a smoke with the colleague. Ended up needing my cutter and lighter. Ran back out to get my stuff to find my car towed.

Went back inside and the manager on duty told me they towed my car.

Had to UBER to get my car from Savage Towing which treated me like 💩

$400 base fee with $80 surcharge for non-cash plus another $20 from UBER. Staff there accused me of trying to skip out on bill.

Smoke & Barrel management claims no wrong doing in this situation and also doesn’t feel like my treatment at tow company is a reflection on them.

Can’t support them anymore for the lack of accountability in this situation. Good luck to the owners. I will say that owning up to your role in situations is 🔑 in successfully running a business.

They didn’t want to help. Would rather talk to each other than help. They didn’t even give me my change. Filling a claim in small claims court.

Went here for their 5 year anniversary celebration and a few members' birthdays. Well known 105.3 fm dj Stacy Blackman was playing the 🎶( music was great). This was a really good laid back vibe with casual dress and really good adult atmosphere. The drinks/ prices were good. I ordered wings from the food truck onsite. I'm not sure if the lounge actually serves food or not. The waitresses/ staff were very nice and attentive. All the customers I encountered were very friendly . I sat outside on the patio. I really enjoyed myself .

This place is fantastic! The membership is reasonably priced, the service is outstanding, and the drinks are top-notch. They also have a great selection of cigars—I even found one I can’t wait to try. Venessa was amazing, helping me get registered and making my drink just right. If you’re looking for a great spot away from the usual Belmont scene, this gem in Mt. Holly is the place to be!

This place would be five stars if it weren’t for one thing! This place was awesome, very welcoming and friendly with great cigar options. Bartender also made one of the best old fashions I’ve ever had! I love the jazz music and the comfortable seating. I also appreciate that the door opens and allows for amazing ventilation.
The only negative was the fact that you are not allowed to bring your own cigars. With their good but limited selection, you are forced to either buy one of theirs, or buy the largest membership they offer. I found that to be a big turn off for me, and with the drive being almost 40 minutes, it often keeps me from coming here.

The place has changed. The atmosphere is different not as much fun. They normally change a $5 non-member cover charge. However, tonight it was $10. Their explanation for the increase was due to them celebrating their anniversary but they provide nothing special, nothing extra for the extra money. The DJ was good but on only days when I go there and pay $5. I hear a live band. Why the extra cover charge for less service? It does not make sense. I cannot recommend this place anymore for future outings.
