“TLDR; Very friendly and fast service, nostalgic food with phenomenal flavor development and a welcoming environment. 10/10 recommend.Wow. This place was recommended by a friend and I’m so glad I went. It is clean, welcoming and when you first walk in it smells soooo good - which is always a good sign to me that the food is going to taste amazing.I got the Saturday special of beef tips over rice and gravy, hush puppies, with sides of green beans and baked beans. All the beans. This meal….when I tell you it brought me back to sitting at my grandmas on a weekend long forgotten, I mean it. This meal transported me through time. My grandma is no longer with me, and to feel connected again after many years…I’m now a loyal customer. The gravy was so flavorful, the beef tips had just the right amount of char and the green beans were fantastic!!My partner got the half BBQ chicken with French fries, mashed potatoes and cornbread. There was nothing left on his plate. I will say the hush puppies were better than the cornbread in my opinion, but I’m a hush puppy lover.Give this place a shot. It’s worth it!

Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space and I saw coloring and reading books below the hostess stand!

Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs and the entry way is wide. The doors are not automatic but definitely wide and accessible.“

Just got to enjoy the hey y’all pie from pies & sides for the first time with my wife. It tastes so nostalgic. Would definitely buy and enjoy this pie again.

Did this guy really buy a Deep South tomato pie that clearly has pimento cheese in the ingredients and then have the audacity to say that it was greasy…. I look forward to trying the Deep South tomato pie.“

“Tried Tryon house out for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing, came out very quickly and our waitress Keleigh was fast and very sweet! I recommend the turkey and dressing! It was delicious!“

“I had an opportunity to experience this food truck during CMPD Employee Appreciation Luncheon. I had the hot chicken sandwich w/ seasoned fries. The chicken was seasoned with just enough heat and it was very moist. It was a elevated grilled cheese that I would definitely over again. Give it a try, you WON'T be disappointed.“

“First time visit at GC's Gastonia location. Food was good with the exception of the Meatloaf. It was off. There were a nice selection of desserts. Also, the ice cream was much better than at the "GC" I usually eat at. My 9-year old Grandson even noticed it as well. Our server Ms. LOU was sweet and very attentive.“

“Throughly enjoyed my ribeye except what kind of meat was it. Some of it was tough. The garlic butter didn't melt. And being here the second time. Bake potato was cold wouldn't even melt the cheese and not cooked through. Plus my husband asked for the same batter that they used on the shrimp for the fish. Absolutely 💯 perfect . “I don't know why but I have been to 5 different Gas Station Chicken restaurants in various states and it is absolutely the best chicken you can get . The chicken has nice spices and was both Krispy and Krunchy . They also good fries and a dazzling array of dipping sauces. So if you are thinking about having disgusting KFC stop by here and have a good meal .“

Due to its nestled in a shopping center tucked away in the corner and hardly any parking space available.
