We returned to the Outer Banks last week after a 20 year hiatus, remembering Tortuga's Lie as one of our favorite places to eat. We ate there on the second night of our stay and no one in the family was disappointed. I had the grilled salmon salad special and coming from a tough critic, it was DELICIOUS and did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal and the "vibe" was just the same as we remembered. We can't wait to visit again.
Today I ordered a beer, was handed the beer for which I paid $5 which I had in my pocket. however while I was getting my wallet out of my bag, to get more money for a tip, apparently not fast enough, cause he quickly and loudly commented, "thanks I'll try not to spend the tip all at once. i was dumbfounded!! i wasnt even given the chance to tip. which I did... a $1. told him not to spend it all in one place. Despite this, other staff was great as was the food.
Great food. Best we had on our trip. the shrimp and crab legs brought us back twice. stellar all around!
