Poppy's Bites & Barrels Reviews
Poppy's is in a great old building, the history of which I know nothing. Decor is quasi Americana-Vintage- Veteran owned perhaps? Food and service were spot on. I had fish and chips and wife had the shrimp basket. House made chips are a must-have. Shrimp are breaded with some house-made secret mojo that was delicious and unique to this place. I've been a coastal seafood diner for 25yrs and this is really good. This will have to be a repeater because their main claim to fame are...read full review
I like when a bartender gets to know you as a regular. We are never in a hurry, and enjoy a drink or two before we order dinner. Thanks Hank, another enjoyable evening. The food was good and the service was even better. Poppies has become our favorite local bar and restaurant. I’m a veteran and I enjoy a relaxing glass of wine, bourbon, good food, good conversation and good service!
Went for lunch with some friends. We waited over 45 minutes for our food to arrive and we had to ask someone at the bar to assist. Poppy's Bites & Barrels offers an outstanding experience with exceptional service and atmosphere. The theme honors veterans, making it a unique and special spot. The bartender provides phenomenal service and expertise, especially with their private select bourbon casks from three big brands. The food is great, with popular items like the burger and candied bacon, and the cocktails are on point. Guests often enjoy excellent beer, shrimp, and a lively decor complemented by good music. The restaurant is located in a historic building that was once a bank, adding to its charm. Despite some inconsistency with onion rings, overall, it remains a must-visit spot in town for those looking for a friendly atmosphere, good food, and a tribute to veterans. The restaurant is known for its house-made chips and secret mojo-breaded shrimp, and its burgers are a main attraction. Guests have praised the service, food, and drinks, though some have noted occasional delays in being seated and waited on.
