We ate lunch at Harry's BBQ today and I should have read the other reviews on this place before going. I want to first say that our service was great, the server was attentive and came to check on us several times to make sure our drinks were full and we were satisfied with the meal. But the food was a complete disappointment. The food here itself is not great I would say quality-wise wise it is subpar for BBQ. I had the brisket which may at one point have been juicy and tender but was way overcooked and dry, they blamed it on not having a food runner but after looking at some of the other reviews i just dont think they care about the quality of the foid they are making. Their sauces were ok the best was the pepper vinegar but I'm not sure how you could mess that one up. They also had some very odd poorly made house sauces one was wine-based, another honey ketchup and an herb sauce all very overpowering and none of them had a correct consistent flavor. The sides were small and they served it with a texes toast style milkbread which may have been the best thing on the plate a slice of toast was better than the meat. We ordered a pizza but for a bbq place having a third of your menu as pizza throws up some red flags that we should have seen when first sitting down. We noticed that a lot of the entres on other people's tables weren't finished either probably due to the low quality of the meal.

Been to this place a few times now, love the outdoor patio area, super fun. Staff is amazing and knows how to make excellent drinks. The wings and desert offerings are excellent as well. Definitely give it a shot!

Arrived and was seated quickly by hostess. This was the last employee we saw. We waited for 15-20 minutes, deciding on what to get, noting that everything was kind of overpriced for lunch. And then realized we never once saw a waiter/waitress to get our drink order. Looked around and there was no staff in sight. Got up and walked out with out seeing another employee, including the unmanned hostess stand. Very disappointing and will most likely never go back.

After wandering around this quaint town we stumbled on Harry's BBQ. This restaurant was fantastic. They had a great modern atmosphere and friendly staff. The BBQ was excellent with tasty sauces. They had a special that was chicken and waffles that was great with their ranch. Overall they earned a 5-star rating from me!

First of all the service was great. But we were the only people in the dining area.
Whenever I eat out with someone I like to wait until after the meal and give the meal and service a grade A-E. we both had the turkey sandwich. We both gave it a grade of C, we both had potato salad we both gave it a C- . I also had onion rings and they were awesome! A+. I also got a smoked sausage to go I tried eating it that evening and after two bites I threw it away. It was a D-.
Bottom line I will not be going back and I love BBQ.

Everything about Harry’s BBQ was amazing! The staff was excellent, the food was AMAZING, and the atmosphere (while loud) was so fun. They even had a BBQ sauce bar with so many good flavors to try! Highly recommend stopping on your visit to New Bern.

Really expected better for a bbq restaurant. I had the bbq sandwich and there was no flavor and very very dry. Sides were under cooked even my husbands wings had no flavor except salt. Even the sauces just tasted like vinegar with no spices. As a caveat the waitress was very nice and attentive.

We wanted to like this but we probably won’t return. I ordered the sweet and spicy pizza which was not bad, but not so great I would go back there specifically to order it. My husband ordered a pour of a nice bourbon but was surprised to see it served in a plastic cup like you would get mouthwash at the dentist. The most disappointing part though was his meal. He ordered the pork belly burnt ends. Honestly, they were horrible. They were not just burnt, they were cremated. They had the flavor and texture of burnt, dry beef jerky. He ate two bites and couldn’t finish them. A pizza, burnt ends, fries, single pour of bourbon, and a Dr Pepper put us out $70.
