It's 2:57 p.m. Sign says "OPEN". Doors are unlocked. I see no business hours posted. Walk in to get some peach muffins (which are very good) as I frequently do. As soon as I stepped inside, I was quickly spoken to sharply by a lady who says "WE CLOSE" (exact quotation). If you're closed turn the sign off and lock the door. Don't be nasty to the unsuspecting person who walks in and was willing to spend money. All I wanted was some muffins. The display case was full. There are options around town and I didn't have to go far. There are proper ways to interact with customers. If someone isn't cut out for a public facing job, they need to find another line of work.

This place is such a great hole in the wall and staple of New Bern. If a person is looking for a comfortable meal with quality food and a relaxing atmosphere that is not too fancy, this is the well established place the locals like to come.
Parking: Nice big parking lot with plenty of spots, and this place is right off the main highway.

My sister highly recommended this place and the reviews on here seemed to agree so I went with my mom and brother and I don’t think I’ve had worse food at a restaurant, the gyro was tiny and tasted awful, nothing like a proper gyro, and for $10 you’d expect it to at least be filling but it was not, the side salad was good though the greens were wilted and browning, it tried a bit of my mom’s sandwich and it didn’t taste any better, the entire restaurant feels really out of date, like it hasn’t been updated or cleaned since the 90s, bugs, dirty spots, and smells really stale, and everyone who worked there was super unresponsive and barely interacted with us, I wouldn’t recommend eating here even if you were paid to.

Friendly service, but not great breakfast. Eggs were overcooked and hubby's omelet was a slice of cheese, an uncut or Chopped thin slice of ham, and when he asked to add bacon, it was put in as full straps, not cut. It was hard to cut and the cheese not melted. However, very clean facility and super friendly staff!

My husband & I were visiting New Bern from Chapel Hill, and decided to go to breakfast here. The owner was very attentive & told us how it worked. We poured our own coffee than ordered from menu to him & he told us to sit anywhere. The music was soft Jazz, the food was fresh. We both had the same omelet. It was the Greek. We both are Vegetarian. It came with a fresh fruit cup, toast & real potatoes. We were in Heaven. Pleasant, quiet . We went back a second time & ordered the exact meal. It was 7:00am when we went both times. I think they open at 6:30.

Ordered from them on DoorDash and this is the broccoli ginger salad they gave me, they clearly were aware they were giving me spoiled broccoli and just didn’t care! There is no excuse for that, it’s extremely disgusting.
