The food was delicious, and the service was fast. This was a good breakfast. Minus one star only because the host scowled at me as I walked in the door. Would have preferred a smile from the person who determines my very first impression of an establishment.

This is a great place to eat, I usually go twice a week. The food is good, staff works hard and the prices are good. Unfortunately I have noticed something disturbing lately. Some of the long time wait staff feel that they can keep your change. Let's say your bill is $10.26 and you give them $15 to pay, they give you back $4 and keep the .74 cents. It's not the 74 cents that's the issue, it's the principal of the thing. I've noticed this is becoming a trend the the Hickory area from wait staff. Next time someone doesn't give me all my change, that .74 cents will be their tip and their only tip.

The family owning this restaurant are staples of the community, always delivering consistent quality as well as giving back in many ways through partnerships with churches.
The staff are always pleasant, with no staffing issues in recent history.
They really need more additional space as it's a small restaurant. Make sure you get there early!
Parking: Parking can be hard to find during breakfast and lunch hours. Get there early for good seating and parking.
Kid-friendliness: Friendly, just keep them disciplined and we'll mannered like you would anywhere.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not the most ideal, as the restaurant space is very cramped for a wheelchair.

Chicken and biscuit with gravy. Biscuit was hard and chicken overly breaded. Great taste in hashbrown casserole, but hashbrowns were under done. Husband enjoyed the Southern bowl and we got great service.
