Pirates Deck has become our go to seafood restaurant on Oak Island. Seafood is awesome! Have stopped driving to Calabash from OKI since they have started serving seafood!

I really enjoyed my experience!
The bartender was quite knowledgeable about both drinks and food (including a great recommendation of the Mama Sherry Shrimp) and was quite attentive. I had a really great time that was both relaxing and pleasurable while also quick and thorough. The oysters and crab legs were also fabulous!

I had to give them one star, but they don't deserve it!

We had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. We were completely neglected by the staff — after waiting literally over an hour for our food (just basic bar food), we had to remind our server, and then the food appeared in less than two minutes. That made it very obvious it had just been sitting there the whole time. It was cold, and the fried calamari was soggy and unappetizing. On top of that, they forgot a basic salad we had ordered but still charged us for it. When we brought it up, the only adjustment they made to the check was removing the calamari I couldn’t eat because they were gross. Overall, poor service, poorly handled, and very disappointing. Definitely not a place I would recommend. If you read this review and still decide to give it a try — don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Food was definitely on the heavily greased side. Had gotten hash browns and my plate had a pool of grease. Sausage patties were dry and honestly just bland. Servers were absolutely wonderful, polite and quick service.

This place is a scam! Watch your bill! Charged me 86.00 on my receipt, got a returned ticket for $93.00. Said it was for a 4% credit card fee. Credit card fee, when I questioned it, they threatened to call the police on me! Avoid this place like the plague! The manager doesn't know how to deal with a customer questioning her authority. She tried to call 911 and they didn't answer for her. Must not be the first time. Awful management and leadership!

Very open bar type of dinner, has an inside sitting as well. Loved the decorations and staff was neat. Little dark but Food price is decent. But loved the white Russian that was made. Definitely a great stop for a bar outing.

Im from the Calabash NC area so I am used to seafood coming from the dock straight to the restaurant and being served fresh. Its hard to find restaurants that remind me of the Calabash style of preparing seafood. I have found my spot. These guys nailed it. Ill be dining there alot more in the future.

The food was up there with some of the worst ive ever had. We had an appetizer and i had shrimp and clams and my mom had scallops all the seafood would have been better to get it frozen at food lion and heat it up the French fries were not terrible but I wouldn't want them ever again and the cole slaw wasn't very good either. The server was nice and there was a relaxed atmosphere deck so all and all the experience would have been fine but the place just has really bad food.

Large clean room. 5 adults, 2 children - the bill was $269. They got two food orders wrong, I didn't see any crab in the crab cake, and they decided they needed to uswitch beers brands for one of us without telling us, so the service was average at best.

I don't understand what's going on here. Been here 3 times in a few years, and it's a trainwreck every time. Basically shame on me for not learning my lesson and keep coming back. Seriously confused by the 18% garbage fee for parties 6 or more. I would be ok with it, if I didn't have to go to the bar and order my own drinks., and wait 45 minutes for a salad to come out with the rest of everyones food that was served cold. Must be nice to get a mandatory tip for NOT doing anything. I'm going to food Lion next time.....will be less of a headache.

Went to breakfast here, or should I say attempted to go to breakfast here, on a Saturday morning. When we arrived there was no one at the host stand and we were told to go inside by a man that was nearby, once inside no one greeted us or seated us. Had to flag someone down to ask to be seated. Once seated a nice man got us menus and drinks, come to find out he worked in the back and was just being kind helping out. We then proceeded to sit there for over 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any of the waitstaff. We were only a party of 2. Another table got up and left as we were waiting. It wasn’t even super busy. There were several empty tables but none had been cleaned off. As we were continuing to wait, a table that had come in significantly later than we had was already being helped. We mentioned this on our way out and they responded by saying “oh where were you, we didn’t see you”, we were sitting directly in front of the table that had come in after us. We were directly in the line of sight, so this was a very poor excuse. I cannot speak for the food as we got up and left because it took so long, but the service was as very poor.

Took family for breakfast our food came out cold and the hash browns were soggy and greasy. The grits were pasty almost like old gravy.
