Not going to lie, I've never been here. I found the frequent flier card in my son's Captain Underpants Book this evening and looked this place up. They get 5 stars for only requiring 6 visits to receive a free scoop or cup, i have always had to get 10. However, if I do make it out to Oak Island, I'm going to get the mudslide, it looks great.

Fanastic place. Lively, well lit, the girls working there were really friendly despite how busy they were. Any the ice cream was fanastic. My partner got a smoothie and the was also amazing. Any they were very generous with scoops which is nice since a lot of ice cream places are pretty stingy imo.

This is a must every year when we travel to Oak Island, North Carolina. Avoid the shiny new place at the end of the strip mall and go to Tropical Treats! We love the variety of ice cream flavors and fudge. It is bright and clean inside and nice and cool!

Great ice cream selection of ice cream treats and even fudge! The ice cream is scooped in generous portions! We are obviously a fan of the moose tracks and had zero complaints! They have plenty of outside tables and chairs to sit in. Service was quick and the line moved fast. They will let you taste test the flavors before committing too!

Nice little ice cream shop! Tons of options! The Dole whip machine was down, which was a little disappointing, but they have so many flavors of ice cream that we all left happy! Best of all for me, they have several dairy free ice creams to choose from including cookies and cream! It was delicious! Service was great and friendly, the employees offered samples of several flavors to help us choose.
We love everything about this place from the cute design, the unlimited options of candy, and of course the ice cream! The banana split was a fan favorite!

Lots of hard ice cream choices and different cones. Have Dippin Dots, soft serve and sherbet selections. The prices are reasonable. The inside is very cold so you can eat the ice cream leisurely.

The lack of integrity of this business is appalling. On the beach, Noah sold us three of the Italian ices. We paid via venmo as he was scooping the ices. After two were scooped he said he ran out but if we just requested a refund, they would pay us back for the unclaimed third. After requesting a refund via venmo it was declined. I tried a request again with a full description on why, yet, it was still declined.

Run by the meanest, cattiest teenager you’d ever met. Sat outside their store to rest after a walk before going into their store for some candy, and one of them takes the time to walk out and scold me like it’s a federal offense to sit in a public area, go so far as to say I’m stupid and with no common sense and to “go away”, and have the nerve to double down when I walk inside and ask what on earth that was all about. My entire visit, I was harassed— all for opting to eat another business’ ice cream outside before ordering inside. As a former frequenter, get your candy fix somewhere else. You’ll find it for much cheaper and from kinder folk— and it goes without saying other ice-cream joints on the island have long had them outclassed. Please, try Sweet Treat instead. I previously considered this kind of behavior unfathomable from a business.
