Dolly’s is a Brevard institution. Many of us didn’t even realize how good we had it until we grew up and moved away to places so far from Dolly’s. I take or send any Brevard visitor to Dolly’s in even mildly warm weather. A perfect summer day is incomplete without a trip to Dolly’s.

I can’t remember who their ice cream supplier is (I used to know, it’s one of the bigger brands, Hershey or similar), but because they order all of these custom flavors, the quality and freshness is always on point. For the same reason, I highly recommend getting the camp flavors. They’re so fresh and you won’t get them anywhere else!

Sadly for those of us with increasing sensitivity to milk, the dairy free options are only sorbets or snow cones, but it is a DAIRY bar after all.

Walked over after a post hike lunch at Hawg Wild. I got a small Ciana Sundae. It was delicious. Plenty of seating outside on picnic tables for families and rocking chairs on the porch under cover for others. Would definitely recommend this place for a sweet treat! 😋

Ice cream was just okay. Flavor I got (pisgah perfection) had barely any mix-ins. Just tasted like a bland vanilla with specks of brownies (definitely not chunks). Ended up tossing more than half of it. Staff was also rude.

Update May 2026: rainy day, steady traffic for Ice-cream, we had a delicious 😋 sundae for only 25 cents more than a single scoop. Hot fudge, whipped cream plus a cherry.

A well-loved ice cream window you walk up to, plenty of seating outdoors. The line was long, but it moved quickly. Delicious and unique flavor combinations. Parking looked very crowded when we arrived but that is also due to a river rafting company using the same parking lot. The gift shop was closed when we were there.

Right at the exit of Pisgah forest, its a great way to wind down after a day of hiking.

If you’re in the area, you have to stop at Dolly’s. It’s right at the entrance to the Pisgah forest. Unfortunately they were out of a lot of flavors, but they’re all tasty. Plenty of outdoor seating and rocking chairs.

2026 Edit: they had a few rough years between the pandemic and Helene, but Dolly’s is still here. As good as ever and still offering local camp themed flavors. Always worth a visit even if it’s not all that pretty of a day out.

I make it a point to come here at least once a year if possible. This place is great with a ton of flavors and is in a great location to watch the various types of people heading into the park. There is plenty of seating so don’t be nervous about going here with a group. This shop also caters to the local camps by naming a flavor after each camp each summer. A great place for a snack!

A wide variety of flavors available. All ice creams are fresh, not icy.
