Loved this place! Have eaten several times and most recently with friend out of town. His comment was THIS is the kind of place you GET the Pie, Dessert and it didn't disappoint! Good was GREAT TOO! Been for lunch & dinner and WILL be back for Breakfast!
This local place is one where repeat customers come often. This was my first stop here and I will come again.
Although much of the menu is carb heavy and the specials are really two meals, my friend and I had salads and they too were delicious. The salad and the bacon were crisp and the homemade salad dressing was very good. When we got in line to pay, we also noticed the tempting homemade desserts - the perfect accompaniment to a salad lunch!

The Country Fried Steak is my usual order but I've never had anything I didn't like. If Fried Chicken is the special - ORDER IT! This has been my go-to spot for either breakfast, lunch or dinner while undergoing cancer treatment at UNC. Even during chemo, when I couldn't eat much, I still wanted Virlie's and I've celebrated all of the milestones of treatment with them!
