My wife and I celebrated her birthday with dinner at Cortez last night. Overall it was a great experience! The only nit would be we waited 10-15 mins after being seated for our waitress to stop by. The rest of the night more than made up for it.We ordered oysters, several small plates and shared the taco plate. The food was delicious and delivered at a good cadence, so we were not inundated with plates all at once. The food was prepared perfectly, tasty and fresh.As I put a note in our reservation that it was my wife's birthday, they kindly provided a free champagne toast and a churro with ice cream dessert with a candle. My wife was thrilled!!This was our second time dinning at Cortez, and both times the meals were excellent. We are looking forward to our next visit!

This place is interesting. It is kinda tricky to find. The food can be great, or not great. This time I had the swordfish. It was highly overcooked. The broccolini was highly undercooked, to the point that it could not be cut with a fork and a butter knife. The sauce was fairly bland. For seafood, I would not come back. Now.... With that said... The burgers. They looked, and smelled awesome. I wish I had ordered that, instead.This restaurant feels like it was something special a few years ago, and now it seems like they do not think they have to try, and that is a shame. It is a 3 star experience that could be way better, with a little effort.The Pink Venom was excellent.

It was a fabulous dinner. We had the snapper ceviche, grilled romaine Caesar salad, shrimp tacos and delicious churros for dessert. The bread and weed butter was amazing, too! We'll definitely be back!

The food was amazing. I had the swordfish and my husband had the hanger steak. Both were cooked to perfection. The Rum cake for dessert was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Thanks again!
Oysters were very fresh, great flavor. The Italian style mussels were a thing from the old country, the flavor top notch. The service 10+, the beautiful waitress Deanna was so pleasant and helpful. Thank you for the nice evening
This is becoming our weeknight happy hour spot. The Core Sounder oysters are so good, low salinity and a tad creamy plus the bonus is the happy hour price (from 5-6pm.) Cortez’s snapper ceviche is delicious and in fact the best ceviche I have had anywhere. The ambiance is welcoming, our bartender Nick was friendly and informative, and the overall experience was great. We will be back soon!

Amazing food, amazing staff, great music, intimate vibes. When you look at your chefs, and they are smiling, you know it's an amazing place. Also the wait staff are very fun, good vibes people. This is the best place on Glenwood by mile and change. I mean do you know another restaurant, that does beans so good, you think of your grandmother?

Ambiance was lower because we sat outside under a plastic tent. It just wasn't that great. The patio is definitely better in the summer. Inside was awesome though when I walked through!
