Wonderful portions, great tasting food all around!
Food was good but not as good as i expected. Vibe of the restaurant was good then the music went off snd they shifted it a little. Server was good but not great. Id pick up food again but wouldn’t dine in. The calamari was really good btw.
We went to this restaurant on Mother’s Day 2024 to celebrate the holiday and my daughter’s degree from Duke. It was the most disappointing meal and service I can recall. We spoke to Tatiana afterwards and she encouraged us to try it again. My daughter was obstinately reluctant, but we were in NC visiting her so we talked her into going again. This time, the food was excellent, and the service by Missy was fantastic. We were very happy with the entire evening. Whatever happened before, Tatiana listened and fixed what was broken to make Gravy an excellent dining experience. The calamari, vodka sauce on the ravioli, and the tiramisu were delicious.
We ordered gravy for delivery. I actually thought that what was delivered as bolognese was a mistake. It seemed like they ran out of bolognese so decided to serve a very sweet vodka sauce with some chopped up barely there meatballs and other random bits of pork. I have made bolognese 100 times in my life and this was not bolognese. After looking at previous pictures of the dish, this is in fact their version of bolognese. I couldn’t even eat it. Additionally the risotto balls have a very off putting flavor, completely overwhelmed by the herbs. I think they would benefit by sticking with more traditional recipes.
We placed a to-go order. Food was ready when promised, staff were extremely friendly, and food was fantastic. Will definitely visit again!
So delicious!!! Ravioli and chicken cacciatore.Yum!
We tried Gravy for the first time tonight (it’s World Pasta Day, after all). We couldn’t be happier. The service was outstanding. The vodka ravioli was killer. My wife’s bolognese was terrific. And the tiramisu? To DIE for.
This is one of downtown Raleigh’s finest Italian eateries. If you haven’t tried it, you should.

We had a corporate dinner in the Wine Cellar and our team had a GREAT time! We had quite a few folks with dietary restrictions and they were prepped with substitutes to accommodate these which we sincerely appreciate. I cant remember all of the ladies names who helped our group but they were fabulous and made it a seamless evening!!
We will definitely be back!

After hearing about it for years and knowing it as a staple in Raleigh restaurants, I decided to give Gravy a try. The plan was to grab some to-go food and enjoy a family lunch in a park. Thankfully, this experience didn’t fully ruin the meal.
I ordered online on a Sunday around 1:30 PM and arrived a few minutes after my order was supposed to be ready. The host told me to check back in five minutes. I walked around the block to enjoy the lovely weather that day. When I returned, my food was still not ready, so I sat at the empty, unmanned bar to continue waiting. As I observed the bar area, I noticed a lack of organization and general cleanliness, both behind the bar and in the serving area. Eventually, the bartender on duty showed up and greeted me. I let them know I was simply waiting for my to-go order.
The manager eventually came around the bar with my food. I thanked them both and left to head to my lunch spot. Thankfully, I checked the bag before driving off because I didn’t receive any utensils. I returned to ask for some, and the host greeted me again. I asked, “Do you have any to-go silverware?” They replied, “Yes…” I waited. “Are they up here at the stand, or do I need to go back to the bar? They look busy over there,” I said, glancing into the restaurant where I saw one server and one bartender bussing tables. The host kindly walked over to the server station near the bar to grab the utensils.
At this point, I was a bit bothered by the delay with my food, especially since the restaurant was clearly not busy. I was also somewhat disappointed in the overall tidiness of what I expected to be a proper establishment. The manager then approached the host stand where I was waiting but didn’t acknowledge me. It felt dismissive, especially since they were the one who bagged and handed me my order. They walked off again, just as the hostess returned with the utensils. I chalked it up to the staff just having an off day.
What really frustrated me, however, was that the “Italian Chopped Salad” I ordered was missing the main ingredients of meat and cheese. Instead, I was left with a bowl of lettuce, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, and dressing for $14. The kids spaghetti & meatballs was decent, and the chicken parmigiana was good and somewhat saved the experience.

We are just walking out the door, and I had to leave a review ASAP! Never in my life have I been to an Italian restaurant with such horrible food. When entering this restaurant we were greeted by the host which almost made it seem as if he may not be able to accommodate us for a booth, but the restaurant was very empty. We should have taken that as a sign to leave then. The Risotto Balls were bland, but looked appetizing. I asked for pasta with white sauce and chicken, similar to Alfredo. They told me that they could make chicken Alfredo. No flavor whatsoever. I did not even taste cheese in the sauce. The fettuccine noodles tasted rubbery an uncooked. Even Olive Garden gets it right and this is considered fine dining or at least a classier dining place!! This place is overrated and over priced. I am big on Italian and a huge food critic, but this tops the cake. We spent $87 total for two entrées and an appetizer that tasted like a five dollar meal. Of course we won’t be returning or recommending this spot to any of our friends.

One of the worst meals I’ve had in a while. The Caesar salad had no taste of Parmesan or anchovies. It tasted like a cheap dressing out of a bottle. The chicken Parmesan was overcooked and it was hard to tell if it was really chicken. The tomato sauce on the pasta tasted like cheap sauce from a bottle with zero flavor. The spinach risotto had so much pepper we had to send it back. The remake was edible. The apricot cannoli tasted like a stale cannoli with baby food on top of it. The tiramisu was decent.
