We had a great time celebrating my big brother's birthday. The bartender played the role of host, bartender, & waiter & he didn't miss a beat. Everything from start to finish was amazing.
We had a disappointing experience. There was one server who also bussed the tables, brought the food and manned the bar. He ran the whole restaurant while the manager changed the tv channel. We ordered coffee with cream and the cream was so curdled that it came out in a lump. It was gross. Won't come back again.
As always, Gravy was an excellent experience. Very good lasagna, carbonara and tiramisu. Hippie (our server) was patient when my dinner date was very late and there was never too much or too little checking on us during the meal.
Gravy is a GEM downtown! It's such a beautiful place. The service was spectacular, the food is phenomenal, and the ambiance was just IT! Had such a great time with my friends.
Dinner was fine just did not live up to the hype. Bread was "day old", entrees were heavy, appetizer was disappointing. Cocktails were nothing special. Patio seating was the star. Probably won't be back but clearly it resonates with other reviewers - just not the comforting Italian food I grew up on.
Delicious food. Great service. My husband & I were visiting & we found this gem. I had the bolognese & my husband had the spaghetti & meatballs, we started with the risotto balls. Everything was tasty!
Chicken parmigiana was excellent. Gnocchi was pretty good. Not the best service as our server was also the bartender. Menu could add a few more items. Dessert portion was small.
Our server was excellent. I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out. Every dish we ordered was excellent and the bread was phenomenal.
We thoroughly enjoyed eating in the patio on a cool evening. The service was outstanding and the food delicious.
My wife had the Lasagna and I had the Bolognese, both very delicious. We had the Calamari as an appetizer and it was tender with the gravy sauce, both delicious. We will hesitate to go back in the future.

The food was really good traditional Italian, better than most or all other Italians joints in Raleigh. I like the atmosphere too.
The pizza was not good. My mom and I both ordered them and we couldn't even eat it. Reminded us of stoffers pizzas
Wonderful portions, great tasting food all around!
Food was good but not as good as i expected. Vibe of the restaurant was good then the music went off snd they shifted it a little. Server was good but not great. Id pick up food again but wouldn’t dine in. The calamari was really good btw.
We went to this restaurant on Mother’s Day 2024 to celebrate the holiday and my daughter’s degree from Duke. It was the most disappointing meal and service I can recall. We spoke to Tatiana afterwards and she encouraged us to try it again. My daughter was obstinately reluctant, but we were in NC visiting her so we talked her into going again. This time, the food was excellent, and the service by Missy was fantastic. We were very happy with the entire evening. Whatever happened before, Tatiana listened and fixed what was broken to make Gravy an excellent dining experience. The calamari, vodka sauce on the ravioli, and the tiramisu were delicious.
