Best Cesar salad ever at the Sip Coffee Cafe next to the Iris.

Really pass on this place. Could be much better quality, temp of food, cleanliness of dining room, much less the dismissive attitude of the staff. Bring your own food and drink!!!

Very nice museum, dont come near closing time though or the guards will be on your butt from 20 minutes before closing till you leave.

If you are looking for somewhere classy and innovative then look no further! Iris, dear restaurant attached to the North Carolina museum of art, is a beautiful atmosphere with swirling a sculpture on the walls and beautiful natural light. It does not feel overcrowded although there is enough space for a party of 16. All of the servers are very professional and helpful by guiding you on the menu. They have lots of options for people who are on special diet's, like folks who do not eat gluten or R vegan. It's nice to have an option after walking around the grounds or the museum itself to feed yourself or your family. The food is absolutely delicious and obviously crafted by someone with culinary Expertise. There are so many of flavors that go into each dish and they are plated beautiful I like the plates are pieces of art themselves. It is a great place to go for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, but I highly suggest you call and make a reservation or hold a table because it can get very busy. I give this place 5 stars and highly suggest it to anyone who is intrested and a lovely dining experience. The high ceilings really give the place an air of luxury and contribute to the culture that you might find in the Room. The options for drinks are wonderful and your server well pair them with your dish with ease. I enjoy that they have fresh juices and coffee options as well. Everything is so nice looking and a semi formal it is a great place to go on a date as well!

LOVE this place! Great ambiance. Food is very nicely done. Perfect place for brunch or lunch, ideal to meet up with a friend, even if you don't plan to tour the museum much. During exhibit times make reservations!

This place is always popular - get a reservation if you can. It's a nice break after walking about the museum.

Always enjoy this restaurant and the chance to enjoy the gift shop beside it. We enjoy museum restaurants. We traveled with the Reynolda House Museum for the stirring FRIDA KAHLO show there.

Very much enjoyed meal here. Interesting options, friendly service. My father is a vegetarian and he found his meal satisfying. The negative is that it is loud in the restaurant. Great place to eat before, after or in the middle of your exploration of the museum.

Iris has a very pretty aesthetic but I'm afraid that is all. I went for brunch and was not impressed. I got the breakfast croissant and there just was nothing anything special about it. Nothing that stands out and nothing that I couldn't have made at home.

How fitting to have food fit for an art museum? I never would've imagined a restaurant at a museum could be so good! The food that comes out is beautiful and full of flavor. The first time I came was with a group of girlfriends for Sunday brunch. We decided we would eat and then walk around the museum since most of us had never been there. There bloody Mary's are really good. They put horse radish in them, which has always been a favorite ingredient of mine. Also, make reservations. The place is fairly small and gets very busy on the weekends!

Two ordered fish tacos and one chicken salad. All agreed the kitchen was having a big problem. Cold food, not the freshest fish, unseasoned everything and server didn't seem to care that we ate about a third of the food. 10% discount, which we already had as members of NCMA. Next time I would demand a different menu item, but there won't be a next time!

Do not normally use the (hardly endearing) OMG but Wow. Had the scallops upon my wife's recommendation and that dish was a flavor explosion. I wanted to lick my plate clean. We will be back.

Made reservations ahead of time. This is probably a good idea when going here during a popular exhibit. It is a small area to eat and enjoy seeing art. It is a bit loud at times and it is close quarters for seating. The food was delicious! I went during brunch so got the grit and eggs bowl with pico, Oaxaca cheese, black beans and spring onions. It was a nice portion to feel full but not overstuffed and needing to take food home. Would go again and get that item again. Staff were on top of things. Only disappointed that they don't use recyclable to go boxes, but use plastic. I hope they change that.
