We’ve eaten here for years and I guess I never wrote up a review. Food and service has consistently been great. This times was no exception. It’s a great restaurant to share a meal at especially before or after walking around the museum. Sometimes it gets especially crowded so I’d suggest reservations for peak times/days. I think we tried to get a reservation for this lunch and they weren’t taking reservations- we didn’t have a problem snagging a table.
If you are looking for somewhere classy and innovative then look no further! Iris, dear restaurant attached to the North Carolina museum of art, is a beautiful atmosphere with swirling a sculpture on the walls and beautiful natural light. It does not feel overcrowded although there is enough space for a party of 16. All of the servers are very professional and helpful by guiding you on the menu. Very much enjoyed meal here. Interesting options, friendly service. My father is a vegetarian and he found his meal satisfying. The negative is that it is loud in the restaurant. Great place to eat before, after or in the middle of your exploration of the museum.
