Was a bit worried seeing how tight the restaurant was when we walked in, but Jolie hit it out of the park! From drinks to dessert everything was on point. Sitting at the bar we got to watch the food coming together and see every dish leaving the kitchen, which didn’t help us at all in narrowing down which dishes we wanted to try. Stephen was behind the bar and took care of us. We tried two cocktails that were thoughtful and unexpected. Both delicious! After talking to the chef, our top contenders were confirmed into selections. We ordered the smoked trout dip, steak tartare and the watercress vichyssoise from the menu, along with the two specials for the evening: an asparagus dish with Bearnaise and a poached egg and the rabbit fricassie. Every dish made us melt. The flavors were bold yet balanced and quite layered. Despite eating as much as we did, we didn’t feel heavy as you might expect after big a French meal. Which was great since we really wanted to try two desserts. After watching one of the cooks torching each creme brûlée with technique and precision that provided the perfectly crackable sugar crust, we had to try the cafe au lait creme brûlée and the strawberries and cream on a chiffon cake. Neither disappointed and left us blissfully full, rounding out a lovely meal and dining experience that truly hit the spot. Can’t wait to go back again!

This was wonderful for a special date. The atmosphere on the roof is beautiful and relaxing. The service was phenomenal, our waitress was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The onion tart was SO delicious, and the gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had (just wish there was more of the sauce!) My boyfriend loved his trout and onion soup, and the crème brûlée was to die for. Service was surprisingly fast. Will definitely be back!

came here for a birthday dinner but left disappointed. We were seated on the top, where the curtains kept flapping on us, and the wind was quite cold.we ordered the cheesy bread, which was only four pieces of which two did not contain cheese. The gnocchi that my friend ordered was very small in portionI came for the steak and fries, the herb sauce was mostly a butter sauce, the truffle fries were superb.rose wine was decent.reservations are required

My family and I were so excited to celebrate my birthday at Jolie, but we were very disappointed! Although our waitress was great, everything else was subpar!1. The portion sizes were immensely small; we had to ration the mussels among 2 adults and 2 young children and the steak frites was 75% fries and 25% steak (which was of poor quality).2. The mussels came with a very small piece of bread that we had to cut into 4 small pieces...when we asked for more bread, we were given another small piece that we had to cut into 4 and were even charged for the extra piece. We were astonished to experience this from an upscale (or any) restaurant.3. Also, spending $37 per child for the steak frites was outrageous, especially given the small portion of steak which my 2 young children easily finished...we ended up going out to eat afterwards because everyone was still hungry!4. When we asked for ketchup with the fries for our children, they didn't have any and offered garlic aoli, so we said we'd try it. We were surprised to see they charged extra for the tiny cup too. Again, we didn't expect this from an upscale (or any) restaurant!5. My husband's king salmon was a very small, undercooked portion and only came with some broccolini. We have eaten at many upscale restaurants in the Raleigh-Durham-Cary-Chapel Hill area with very positive experiences but, unfortunately, our experience at Jolie was not the same.

Every detail at Jolie is perfect, from the curated drink and food menu to the atmosphere, even the stairs and restrooms are beautiful. This is the best meal I've had in the states, it is expensive but worth the cost as each dish is really that good. I had the warm gougeres (phenomenal) and roasted mushroom soup (again delicious), and my partner enjoyed his salmon dish. I would highly recommend this to any vegetarians looking for (imo) Michelin level French cuisine - Jolie has multiple standout vegetarian options per course.Vegetarian options: At least one stellar vegetarian dish per course - highly recommend!

Excellent mushroom soup, wet slushy tasteless salmon, wilted broccoli, and a dessert I could have bought at Harris Teeter. All for over $175 for two. Never again.

I had the chance to stop in this last Tuesday and grab a seat at the bar.Kelsey greeted me as I walked in.Ryan was behind the bar & gave some great suggestions on the wine & the food. The open kitchen was a nice addition.I had the smoked Salmon Rillettes with toasted bread. It was so good! The kitchen cooked a perfect Duck breast dish on special.I don't usually like dessert but the chocolate mousse was well balanced. I had to finish the whole thing.I need to make a reservation with some friends sometime for the rooftop patio. It does not feel like you are in Raleigh when you are dining here.

Went to Jolie for our anniversary with pretty high expectations. The best part of our $200 meal was the gougeres appetizer. They tasted great but were very small and we only got 4 of these tiny little balls. Would have loved a few more of them. The creamy mushroom soup was very bland and much thicker than expected. The puffed barley on top was off putting and the whole thing was almost like baby food rather than a soup. The waitress graciously offered to take it back and bring us the onion soup instead. The onion soup was good but nothing special, I definitely expected more from a French restaurant. Our entrees were very disappointing. We ordered the duck and steak frites. The duck was the most expensive entree on the menu and it was just a few slices of duck breast and half an endive drenched in duck fat. There wasn’t much orange flavor and the fat was just way too much to be appetizing. The steak frites was cooked med rare instead of medium like I asked. It came with bernaise sauce that was completely covering the steak. It was very thick more like mayonnaise and I didn’t like it but had no choice to eat it because it covered everything. The fries were cooked really well but were very over salted. All in all we were super disappointed. Our waitress was wonderful and the atmosphere was great but the food was not worth the price. The best part of our meal were our drinks and the appetizer. Not worth even close to the amount we spent.

One of my girlfriend’s favorite restaurants. The cuisine is always amazing and staff if kind and knowledgeable. Sitting at the bar can feel cramped and bumpy. Worth it for the view ??‍♂️
